I walked into the library now refreshed. Still feeling the irritation of those handcuffs on my wrists a few hours ago which were now replaced with a watch. Today I was late but it didn't matter anyway. As soon as I stepped inside Cathy was already hot on my tail. "Tessa...babe, You were meant to call me last night about how the date went. Was Daniel worth it?" She sighed dreamily before her face immediately changed to a confused one with a pout. "Did you sleep at his house cause I went to your apartment late last night and you weren't there. I was getting so worried!"
She slapped my back playfully. I gave her a gentle smile,"Uh, yeah it didn't work out actually." Then her words suddenly clicked in my head. "Why were you looking for me?"
"I'm forever at your place anyway silly! I also wanted to get the details of your first actual date in these last two years!!" She whined.
I simply nodded and asked where Walter was to which she directed me. I waved as soon as he spotted me but he didn't seem happy. "Tessa you should have a very good explanation for not showing up today."
I answered him the exact way I had been told to. "I'm so sorry Walter." I forced my face to look sad as tears began to form in my eyes, "I'm sorry." I faked a choke and a sniffle.
Walter quickly embraced me and started to rub my back asking, "What's wrong? What happen? Are you okay?"
I softly pushed him back as the tears started to roll. "I have to go. My granma is sick and she's all I have. I don't know when I'll be back or even when I will come back but," I was now balling my eyes out,"I...I..I..."
"Shhh its okay, go. And if you come back Cathy and I will still be here for you okay? Do what you need to do." Will gave me a firm hug before letting go.
I wiped the tears on my face."Please inform Cathy. If I tell her, I know she'll want to come with and I can't have that." he nodded. "Thank you. Bye Walter."
I smiled with another sniffle."Bye Tessa, see you later. Call us when you can."
I dashed out of there before Cathy could see me.
After walking two blocks down, I turned by a corner and Daniel grabbed my elbow startling me. He dragged me across the street and shoved me into the back of a black Chevrolet.
Christian was in the front seat and Daniel sat into the drivers seat already starting the car.
"Can I now take the watch off? I don't like having anything tied around my wrists."
Christian turned back to look at me. "Sure, no need to have a tracker on you at the moment anyway. Bring it." He held out his hands. I removed the watch and handed it over.
"Now that you've basically blackmailed me into doing this. What now?" I questioned as I removed my contacts revealing my sea-green eyes.
"We're attending a charity ball hosted by your husband on Saturday. Pretty hyprocitical if you ask me." Daniel stated, disgust laced in his voice."Lift the seat next to you."
And surely there was a box there. I took it then proceeded to open it. There was a red silky dress, a makeup kit, a mask, a pair of black heels and a matching purse. "Mascarade ball? How cliché." I put the box back and laid the seat back down when a thought crossed my mind. What is under my seat?
I scooted over and lifted it to find weapons. I should have guessed. Ideas started to run through my head like what if I just kill them both? And more. That would mean jail time and more charges pressed against me. I couldn't afford anymore baggage to carry on my shoulders.
