they were in the car. all them, Randi, Nicholas, and their mom, and dad. they were on a road trip to Minneapolis. Randi was writing in her journal, while nicholas, and their mom and dad were listening to music. their dad was driving at the time.
"What should we do when we get there?" Randi asked.
"probably go to our hotel and unpack for the night," Randi's mother responded.
"what about dinner" Nicholas, who goes by Nick, asked.
" well, we could go to culvers, what do you think mad-nick??" their mom said accidentally deadnaming nick. nick came out as transgender only weeks before, so his mom wasn't used to his new name yet. both parents were supportive of him.
"Uhmm... I think culvers is ok" nick said. "Is culvers ok with you randi?"
"Yea its-" randi got stopped by the sound of the breaks and then everything was black. As soon as she came to, she was in a white room. Everything hurt. Her arms her legs. Her neck. Everything.
"But where is nick, mom and dad?" She wondered
"Where are they" she asked, her voice weak.
"shes awake!!!" She heard the voice of her grandmother.
"Where are they?" She asked, a little louder this time.
"Where are who?" Her grandmother replied
"Mum, dad, and- nick" randis voice caught.
"Nick is outside, but your parents.. They-" her voice cracked. "They died" the world began to stop. Everything was black again.
