"Ira, your brother wishes to see you" I heard. I turned to see his messenger standing in the doorway. "Miss Ira, Sir Issac wishes to see you" he said, tilting his head down. "Okay. I'll be there shortly" I said, looking down to the floor. After he left, Aaron spoke up, "You shouldn't go. He's going to hurt you again. He was drinking all night long" he said. "I know... but he'll only get angrier if I hide from him. There's nothing I can do. But I do have you. With you by my side, I know I'll be okay. You'll keep me safe and help me when he's finished" I said. I pulled on my sleeves as I made my way to my brothers quarters. I knocked on the door three times when I got there, and waited for his response. The door was opened and the smell of alcohol was strong. "You little bitch. How dare you make me wait!" he yelled as he grabbed me by my hair and yanked me inside before slamming the door shut.
I looked up when I heard the sound of a lock, and saw him walking up to me. He grabbed my face, craning my neck up, "You are so pathetic. A disgrace to our family. We are power holders! You are no better than the dirt who want something from us! I don't know when it went wrong with you. You are just... so pathetic!" he yelled. He let go of me and turned around with a frustrated sigh. I watched him pick up a bottle of alcohol and take a swig before turning back to me. "You know.. what you need is to be taught a proper lesson" he said, pointing at me with the hand holding the glass bottle. He knelt in front of me with a smirk, "A lesson will do you some good" he said. I didn't dare move or speak a word. I heard him laugh as he stood back up, "I know just what to do with you" he said, pulling me up by the front of my shirt. He grabbed my left wrist and walked to the door. Pulling it open, he proceeded to pull me along to an unknown destination.
I was shoved to the floor at the bottom of the flight of stairs, scraping my hands and knees. I pushed myself up to see his black boots in front of me. "Stand up already!" he sneered. I quickly did as he said, but before I could get a look at the room I was pulled along. I was abruptly turned around not long after, and pushed down. Before my sight was blocked, I saw something shiny and made of metal. I felt something cold on my right wrist. No way. He was handcuffing me! I could do nothing as something was making me have to stand up with my arms straight up. I then heard the sound of a padlock below me before his sinister laughter was echoed throughout the room. "I'll be back. Don't go anywhere" he said. Once the door was closed, I slumped what little I could and noticed the gradual rise in temperature.
It was a long time before he returned. I felt so weak. Nothing but hot and covered in sweat. "Looks like you've waited long enough" he said in a deep voice before I heard him step away to somewhere else in the room. I heard something open and close before he walked back over. I was forced to turn the opposite direction before hearing a snap of leather. Then seconds later, the most painful thing I have ever felt was inflicted upon my back. Then it happened again and again. "Go on, cry out in pain. I'll find what will make you suffer the most, and I'll keep doing it. So cry out in pain" he said. I couldn't allow him to have satisfaction. I had to stay quiet no matter how much pain I felt! He continued to hit me over and over. I refused to cry out in pain, but there was no stopping the tears that began to stream down my face through the fabric covering my eyes. I heard him stop and drop the whip before walking over to look at me. He grabbed my face, "You cry so easily but you won't express your pain. Something is very wrong with you. No need to worry though, I'll have you voicing your pain soon" he said. It wasn't long before I heard the sound of fabric ripping apart. It was my clothes! What was he doing? What was his plan? I was able to put my arms down finally, but the relief didn't last. I was turned around forcefully and pushed down on the mattress. "I'll make you scream" he said as he ripped off the cloth. I felt my body shiver from fear. What would he do to me? He bit me in the arm, then I felt something cold on my cheek. It was sharp. I felt pain where it was as he slid it, and the warmness of blood told me exactly what he was doing. After removing the weapon, Issac traced the left side of my body lightly with his fingers. When he reached my waist, he stopped briefly, but that was only to grab his knife. He then pulled me up off my back. "Put up a fight and I'll make sure you will never heal a scar on your face" he whispered in my ear, making me tense. My legs were forced wide open as the snap of plastic was heard. What did he have? What would he do to me? How far would he go? "Issac.. please don't do this" I whispered. That earned me nothing but a slap on the face, "I told you to never call me by my name! You bitch. Can't even listen to a simple instruction!" he yelled. "Miss Ira, it's time to wake up now" I heard as arms were wrapped around me. Arms I could trust.
I gasped as I opened my eyes to see it was the early morning. "Miss Ira, are you okay?" I heard a whispered voice ask. I sat up and looked to see Aaron by my side. I raised my hand and wiped the tears from the nightmare. "It may never stop" I said. "Don't say that. We left only a month ago. Your father didn't even care that Isaac was trying to force sex on you. It was meant for you to leave. Our job is to keep you safe. When you are ready, we will find someone to help bring justice back to our nation" he said. "You're right. I trust your judgment. We'll do just that" I said as I stood up.
