The door slammed shut behind me and caused me to stumble onto a cold sandy ground. I pulled myself to my feet and dusted the black sand off my dress. I turned around to see a golden door in the direction I came from, with a small gold knob on the left. My eyes slowly trailed onto the cave-like surroundings, but instead of dark rock walls, the tunnel had white-silver rocks as a wall. The wall was smooth enough for me to faintly see my own reflection, although it was wildly distorted. I saw my blue eyes pierce through the darkness and back to me, and behind me stood an eternity of never ending walls as the tunnel walls mirrored one another.
After I walked what felt like miles, I began to feel hopeless when I couldn't see an end to the tunnel. My face became damp from the unknown humidity, and occasionally trickled down my face. I already took off my blue coat, and it hung around my waist when I felt heat. I later decided if I turned back around, it would be a good idea since I was also starving. So, I ran back towards the door.
Once I reached the door, I grabbed the golden knob and pulled open the heavy door expecting the brush of cold wind and bright light beam toward me along with upset Uncle John. Instead, it was the tunnel continuing on the other side as if the door was pointless where it stood. My heart started racing when I realized I was indeed stuck in here too, with no food or water. I looked at the other side of the door seeing the golden key popping out, but there was no bark, instead there was the rest of the golden door. I yanked the key out of the lock and I decided to try this direction next, since I wasn't completely sure if it had an end either.
Each step I took, I could hear an odd humming echo through the tunnel from the direction I was walking to. I felt uneasy when I heard the buzzing grow louder to the point I had to cover my ears with my hands. I could feel cool air brush against my skin as I reached toward to end of the tunnel. I saw the walls fade from a solid silver color fade into a translucent color, and I was able to see a night sky outside the "cave". Then the walls became as clear as glass, and I was surrounded by trees.
