Hikari

When we got to the waiting room, Todoroki, Kyoka, Momo, Tsuyu, and Shoji were there sitting on chairs at the edges of the room. They seemed to be the only ones from our class that had passed so far.

"I really hope the others pass," Midoriya said. "I'm worried."

"I'm sure we all are," I said. "I want everyone to pass, too."

"That's 80 people," Mera said. "Just 20 more and we'll be done."

Just then, Bakugo, Kirishima, and Kaminari walked into the waiting room. Bakugo looked angry, but I guess he always looked angry. I was careful not to look at him now. That incident with Midoriya was enough to make me not want to look at him anymore.

Eventually, the 100th person passed, and when our class gathered together, I was relieved to see that everyone was there.

"Alright, so for the 100 of you that passed, please turn your attention to the screen," Mera said.

I glanced up at the screen as it showed the test arena that we were just in. Then, suddenly, everything started exploding and the buildings, the mountain, practically everything started falling apart.

So they made a huge arena only to blow it up, I thought. That's kind of a waste of money.

"This is the last test," Mera said. "Your job is simple: save the bystanders who have been caught in these disasters and get them to safety."

I felt relieved. Aku had taught me a lot about saving people, because he was a rescue hero before he retired.

First: check for injuries.

Second: make sure the area around you is safe before moving the person.

Third: keep the person calm until you can get them somewhere they can be treated.

"This will show us how you will carry out rescue missions when you get your provisional licenses. Treat this as if it were the real thing."

Then, suddenly, people crawled out of the debris: older people and young kids, some of them bleeding.

"These people are the Help Us Committee, or H.U.C for short. They have dressed up like injured citizens and will be scattered all throughout the disaster zone. We will score you on a point system, depending how you save the citizen and get them to safety. If you pass the benchmark, you pass and get your provisional licence."

I nodded. This would be pretty easy for me. My mother's quirk was basically made for search-and-rescue type missions.

"You have 10 minutes to strategize before we begin," Mera said.

Strategize? I thought. Pfft. I don't need to strategize.

Then I saw Shiketsu High walk over to Bakugo and Kirishima and start talking. I frowned a little as I studied the girl in the back. I didn't like her one bit. Although I could be wrong, she seemed sort of... suspicious.

Eventually, they walked away and the girl winked at Midoriya and he blushed. For some reason, she had a thing for Midoriya.

I glanced back at Bakugo and my heart went KA-THUMP. I quickly looked away, my face hot. Who knew I would like someone like him.

Suddenly, an alarm sounded and Mera's voice came on. "Villains have preformed a large-scale terrorist attack! Since most buildings have collapsed, there are many injuries."

"This sounds like a background story," Tsuyu said.

Kyoka looked at her. "So then..."

"We're starting," Tsuyu said.
