"Mr. Cho, I see this is the third time this week you've been tardy. Care to explain that?"
Kyuhyun looked up at his boss with bags under his eyes, and an overall tired expression. It was very obvious he hadn't been getting much sleep recently, and the reason for that was quite unknown, even for a genius like himself. Kyuhyun desperately wanted to think of some smirky remark, but his brain decided now was the time to stop functioning. Without anything witty to retort, he figured telling the truth wouldn't hurt, although it wasn't in his character. Plus, if Jongwoon found out Kyuhyun's been lying, who knows what kind of hell that would start.
"I don't know," Kyuhyun managed to get out.
"I see." Jongwoon paused. "You know this isn't just any job, right? This is a business. We get work done here, don't we Mr. Cho?"
"Yes." Kyuhyun replied.
Jongwoon chuckled. "No. I'm getting work done here. You, on the other hand are not."
"I'm sorry, Sir."
"Sure, you are. Now tonight, I want you to get some rest. If you are even a minute tardy tomorrow morning, I may just have to reconsider promoting you. Do you understand this?"
"Yes, Sir."
"That's right. And I better see you tomorrow morning at 7 sharp. Or else.."
A shiver went throughout Kyuhyun's body. That's normal though. Everything about Jongwoon makes him shake. Was it the deep, dark tone that was always in his voice whenever he spoke? Or was it the fact that Jongwoon had enough power over him, that he could basically force him to do anything he desired. That thought alone gave him goosebumps.

Kyuhyun walked into his one bedroom apartment and sighed. All he could think about was getting enough sleep to look presentable for Jongwoon the next morning. He shivered again. Dang, Jongwoon. The things you do to me.
As Kyuhyun was about to hop into bed, a few hours earlier than usual, he realized that he was in fact, very tired, and going to bed now will ensure he keeps his job. It's the only thing he has now, anyways.
--
Kyuhyun awoke the next morning completely alert and aware. Maybe that was because he realized it was 7:30. Oh crap, Kyuhyun thought. Jongwoon's gonna kill me!
All thoughts on looking appropriate for work were thrown to the wind as he made a mess of his apartment by running around and making sure he has everything. He arrived to the office 30 minutes later, hair half combed and yesterdays shirt still on. Oops.
"Mr. Cho, I see you've decided to come to work this morning."
"Sorry, Sir. I took your advice, but I overslept."
Jongwoon takes a good look at the taller's face. There were still prominent bags under his eyes. "Are you sure you even slept last night?"
"Yes, Sir. I'm positive."
"Really? Well, the bags under your eyes tell a different story."
Kyuhyun didn't have anything to say. No witty remark. No snarky comeback. Just, nothing. Before he had a chance to apologize for being tardy the past four days in a row, Jongwoon invites him into his office.
"Here, sit down. You know the procedure, it's not like it's the first time you've been in here," Jongwoon says when they walk in.
Kyuhyun sits on the chair directly across from Jongwoon's, expecting some form of punishment.
