It was the day that the little lumalights decided for themselves what was to happen. No one other than Metal, Windy, and Fire had passed on. Flora, Rubber, Oil, and Cube went their own path to the higher world where the humans roamed, bidding their farewells to all their friends in the underground. The little Aqua did not know when she'll see them again, and went alongside the fearful Copper that had no clue what was going on. "You guys wanna go where?!" Copper shrieked, Grass and Mid constructing a boat.
Technically, Grass did all the building while Mid laid on top of the rigid boat, testing if it would hold it's weight. They were lucky it was nighttime, otherwise many people at once would put to use their sinks, baths, showers, toilets, and other drains and pipes. "We're going to see if there's another safe place full of lumalights" Copper was told by Mid, Grass finishing up the last of the steering paddle, and pushing the boat up to where the tram as located. Copper and Aqua followed Grass and Mid to where they parked, and sighed.
"If you plan on going down there on your own, at least wait for all of us to be on board with this idea" Copper begged, Grass and Mid exchanging glances at one another. Mid nodded his head, Grass sighing in defeat, and approving of Copper's advice. The leader of the confused lumalights, Copper, was ready to group everyone who was still here together. Bolt who was again eating the energy out of a lightbulb was rushed to the docks, Skull finishing his last minute studying on Mid's "History of Lumalights" book.
Bolt and Skull were now connected with Aqua, Copper, Grass and Mid, the remaining six prepared to take on the mysterious waters. In the moment of finding the right words, Copper stepped on board the boat that Mid was already sitting in, and cleared his throat, constructing the most cheesiest of all speeches. "We may be leaving this crazy place, but remember that it was all we ever had" Copper reminded the other five, them not caring at all. Aqua a slight bit sad to part ways with her only home.
Skull had fully covered himself in clothing, taking to precaution that he was stronger than the others, and needed to distance himself until needed. Mid stayed in the cabin of the boat, sleeping through the ride, Grass and Copper at the wheel of the boat, Skull was keeping an eye on anything coming up in the waters while Aqua stared back at her reflection in the soothing river. Copper took the wheel in his charge, and Grass helped teach him how he made the wheel work. Aqua wondered how Cube and Oil were by now.
"Skull, could you go check on Mid?" Copper requested the grayish spirit to do. Skull nodded, and headed down to the lower cabin where Mid rested in, Grass taking Skull's last job in patrolling the front. "Go left here" Grass reported, Copper following his orders, and steering left through the dark and eerie tunnels. Aqua felt very tired from the long ride, there being no strong currents to help quicken the paste. Speaking of paste, there was something else happening downstairs that Aqua decided to go check on.
She wondered what the two were doing, so she went down to see what was taking so long for Skull to return back to the top of the boat. That's when she saw it, the answer she didn't need no longer. Skull and Mid was in the midst of kissing each other, Mid sitting on top of Skull's lap. "Am I interrupting anything?" Aqua questioned, Mid and Skull splitting up immediately to cover their tracks, and quickly think of a lie. "I was just getting something...out of his eye!" Mid laughed nervously, Aqua tilting her head with confusion, yet believing in that excuse.
As Aqua left the bottom room of the boat, Mid and Skull awkwardly looked around their scenery, wondering how to live on with themselves. The little lumalight returned to the surface, noticing the branching paths through different tunnels. "Which way now?" Copper asked Grass, the lime green spirit checking his drawn out map, and pointing left. Copper did as instructed, ignoring the obvious signs around that there was danger up ahead. Aqua peeked over the edge of the boat, sensing strange waves of water circling the boat.
"Copper, somethings not right" Aqua warned the already petrified spirit. "What are y-you implying?" Copper stuttered, Grass noting it too, and leaching on to the sail's pole. "Everyone hold on!" Grass shouted, the boat being dragged off far, and quickly through the tunnels, the outer ring of the boat colliding with the wall, and leaving a dent on the side. After they passed the worse part of the ride, everyone relaxed once again. Copper got up from the floor, still clinging on to the wheel. "Grass, you should've predicted that to happen!" the spirit fumed.
Grass replied with "Hehe, whoops...", and everyone went back to their original duties. Mid and Skull were still... down there in the cabin while Grass, Copper, and Aqua stayed above, scanning their perimeters. The further they went into the tunnels, the more it got darker, and harder to see. "Wait, is Bolt still on board with us?" Grass hinted at, Aqua running to where she last saw the adorable yellow spirit. "Bolt, your'e needed" Aqua gestured to up above, Bolt stealing the energy out from a lightbulb beneath the floorboards.
Bolt stood on the bow of the boat, illuminating himself so that everything in front of them was bright. Grass had an easier way of navigating through the tunnels now as did Copper when steering in the proper direction. "Okay, we should be reaching the drop, so stay on the left side" Grass instructed Copper, the bronze colored spirit nodding, and keeping that in mind. He kept the boat on the left side of the tunnel, never once moving it a slight bit over to the right. Aqua sat near the water, running her hand through, and inspecting her hand.
The dirty water dripped right off, Aqua not being accustomed to new waters yet since she's made completely out of pure, clean water. "Aqua, don't get too close" Grass reminded her, Aqua backing away from the mysterious river. When they reached the other side of the drop, they kept going on through the new territory. The little lumalights did not know how long they were in the river for, all they knew was that it had to be about a half a day now. Skull came back up to tell the others some pretty useful information.
Copper and Grass listened intensively, Aqua listened a bit less intensely while Bolt didn't care, he was too distracted by how weird the water was stirring. "Mid has fallen asleep" Skull implied, Grass scratching his head with confusion as to why that mattered. Copper rolled his eyes at Grass' oblivious mind, and remembered. "Grass, remember that Mid is a mixed lumalight of Sun and Moon, so he sleeps or wakes up at the exact time the Moon and Sun appear" Copper educated Grass. The country-like spirit sighed, and came up with another idea.
"Copper, Bolt, and I will stay awake for the time being, and when the Sun rises again, Bolt will charge downstairs until nighttime returns" Grass commanded, Copper agreeing with that idea. Aqua had no clue where she was to go since her name was not mentioned. Copper noticed her confused face, and called her over. Aqua obliged, and stood next to Copper. "Hey, it's getting late, so you should rest downstairs, okay?" Copper informed her, the little blue spirit nodding. "Alright then, I'll see you in the morning" Copper smiled, rubbing Aqua's forehead.
As Aqua went to sleep, Copper, Bolt, and Grass took charge of steering the boat to freedom. Will they make it to a safe place, or will they get lost in the tunnels of haunting waters? That's something only Aqua knows...
