                                      max's pov
      i was helping lucas wash hairspray out of his eyes, but i was thinking about something i saw. will always stared at mike. i had become really good friends with him, and i could tell he liked him, even if he didn't know it yet. i was going to go talk to him and help him understand his feelings. if only i had someone like that.
      i picked up my skateboard and ran up to the byers front door. i rang the doorbell and will opened it. "hey will! can i talk to you?" "yeah." he lets me inside and i notice there's no one here. we sit down in the living room and i know what to say.
      "will?" "yeah?" " i know you like him." he looks like he just saw a ghost.
"what do you mean? i like girls max!"
"will. i've seen the way you look at him. i understand."
"you do?"
i sigh and prepare to tell him.
"i like girls too."
"really? so you're bi?"
"yes, so i know how it feels. i didn't have anyone who understood, and i want you to."
will sighs. "i've never liked girls, but i thought it was just because i hadn't found the right one yet. lately i've been catching myself staring at him and i just don't know what to do max. he's straight! and if i tell him it might ruin our friendship."
" i know how you feel. there was this girl in california, and i really liked her. one day i told her, and she told everyone. when i walked down the halls people would scream at me, call me a f*aggot. it was part of the reason we moved. and billy made it so much worse."
i realized i wasn't helping.
"but i'm sure mike wouldn't do that! even though he doesn't like me he likes you! i've noticed him staring at you too."
will smiles
"really?"
"yes! el's even told me he's been spending less time with her lately!"
will smiles and says "thank you max."
i smile knowing i did the right thing.
