158: The One With The Power Outage

CHERYL POV:

I walk into Finley's room. "I don't want to go to sleep." He whispers. "The storm is scary." I nod. "The sooner you go to sleep the sooner the storm is over." I tell him. "Go to sleep." I whisper. He nods. I kiss the top of his head and the power goes out. I look at Finn and he starts crying. I sigh. "Come on." I say picking him up.  I walk out and slowly go downstairs. "Where's mommy?" He ask quietly. "Work." He nods. "Do you want me to call her?" He nods again. I grab my phone and call Toni. "Hello."  She says picking up. "Hey! The power went out here because of the storm. Finley just wanted to find out if you were ok." I explain. She laughs a little. "Yeah! I'm ok! I might have to stay here tonight! A tree fell in front of the entrance and exit to the parking lot  and there is no way out." She tells me. "I'm like the only person here except Fangs and Veronica. So it's not as weird." I smile. "Can I tell him you're ok?" I ask quietly. "Yeah." I look at our son. "Mommy is ok." I whisper. He smiles. "Call me if anything comes up." I say. "Ok! I'll be here! Maybe you'll see me tomorrow afternoon if not I'll call and have you pick me up." I nod. "Yeah! Of course. I'll see you later." I smile hanging up. "Let's go to bed." I whisper. He shakes his head. "You can sleep in my bed tonight I'll get some of the touch lights and can have them on for the bathroom, ok?" He nods. We go up to the bedroom. I grab the touch lights, put one in the bathroom and turn it on. "See? Everything is ok." I move the hair out of his face. "Come on." I put him into the bed. He nods. I lie down next to him. "What about mommy?" He ask quietly. "She'll be home tomorrow." I tell him.

TONI POV:

I walk out of my office into the main room. "This is why I don't work late." I tell Veronica slightly frustrated. She takes a deep breath. "How's Finley?" She ask. "Well, the fact that Cheryl called me to tell me the power is out makes me believe that he's freaking out." I say quietly. "How's Cheryl?" She ask quietly. "Trying to stay calm. She's probably in bed with Finn now making sure he doesn't panic himself into insanity." I say concerned for him. Fangs walks in. "Guys, there's a tree, in kitchen." He low key having a freaking out. "Fuck!" I sigh. "I just wanna go home!" I yell.

I walk into the house after a long night in the office. "We have a tree for a porch." I say going into the kitchen. Cheryl looks at me. "Yeah! Don't tell Finley. He hasn't noticed and I called Archie, Sweet Pea and Reggie, and they will be here to get rid of the tree and we'll start planning out the new porch." I nod. "Transformer blew around 10. I was getting Finley into bed for the 5th time when the power went out." She explains. "Where is he now?" I ask quietly. "Veronica took him in to take a shower and WiFi. Oh! And so we can get rid of the tree and gaslight him when he ask where the porch is." She says smiling. "What porch?" I ask jokingly. "Exactly." I walk closer. "Why aren't you there?" I ask confused. "Because I need to be here when the boys get here." I nod. "That means we have the house to ourselves." I say smiling. "Yeah, but Sweet Pea, Reggie and Archie have issues with boundaries and will walk in." She explains. "I forgot about that." I pull her into a kiss. There's a pounding on the door. "That is boys."

"Do you want to put a bored or something on the door so no one decides it's a great time to fall 7 feet?" Reggie ask. I nod. "That would be great." Cheryl says quietly. I walk over some of the shit the tree took down. I take a deep breath. "Toni?" I look at Cheryl. "My grill." I say sadly. "We can get you a new one." She tells me. "It was my fathers." She nods. "I know. We can get you a new one that looks the same." I take a deep breath. "It's not the same." I whisper. "So?" She ask. "It'll be something you can pass down to Finley if you're so insistent to." I nod. "You're right." I whisper. Archie walks over to us. "Do you guys know if Veronica is seeing anyone?" He ask quietly. "Yeah! Betty! Like she had been for the past 2 years." I say. He nods and goes back to work. "We're gonna have to stay at a hotel." Cheryl says. "Why?" I ask confused. "I have work to do and there's no Wi-Fi." I nod.
