Chapter five: Illusion

~Reader's POV~

"Hey, not so fast! You're going to have to through the captain of the Order of Scraps Disposal first!" Hawk protests, throwing himself in front of Elizabeth. Golgius steps forward and kicks the pig, sending him bouncing around the room. Elizabeth screams in a panic.

"Now then" Golgius says, throwing the blankets off Meliodas. I feel myself tense as he leans over my best friend. He looks around for something and reaches towards his sword. Meli straightens up and puts his hand on his dragon handle. I instantly run over to him and help him up, earning a small smile. I step in front of him, blocking him from the armored Holy Knight. I glare at him for a few seconds before he decides to jump out the window, running away.

We all stare in confusion. "Alright let's go catch him!!" Meli said.

We run into Golgius in the middle of the town, and interrupt his musing. "Impossible! How did you find me?" He shouts. Hawk starts to brag and Elizabeth starts to question him. Meanwhile, I'm focusing on the surroundings to check for possible escape routes.  "I'm going to have you give up the name of the person who ordered you to take the Princess," Meliodas suddenly speaks up. "Otherwise, I'll have to beat you black and blue." Golgius raises his hands in the air, agreeing to Meliodas's demands sarcastically. I feel anger at how much cockiness this Knight has as I dodge his blades that would've sliced my neck.

Meliodas cuts down the ones that were aimed for him and Elizabeth.  "I released those blades when I raised my hands. You were able to see me do it?" Golgius questions.  "My eyes can spot panties from a mile away, so you better not underestimate them." Meliodas says. I resist my urge to laugh, while Elizabeth nervously thinks whether that was a joke. "Of course." Meliodas replies in a monotonous tone.

While this is all happening I decide to slip away to hopefully find Diane. Before I can, I notice that Golgius stabbed the doctor from earlier. I gasp because I knew he wouldn't survive it. I glance around before running to the man just as the rest of my group runs up to him. I quickly lean over him as I hear Meliodas shout. "Y/N! Be careful!" He yells before blocking a hit from Golgius.

"Man how much of a coward can you be to try and hit me from the back without even showing yourself~" I teased. I see Meliodas looking at me when a curtain face. He has a plan. He starts running so I grad Elizabeth's hand at start running behind him.

We run into a deserted town building to keep the townspeople from getting involved, I see him cut the floor so that if Golgius does come in, he'll fall immediately. Which would be really funny to watch.

"Hahahaha I got you now, there's no escape!" He said from the door frame. I look beside me to see Eli scared. I'm about to get up to walk over to her before being interrupted by a loud crash. I turn around to see a gaping hole in the floor, and I see Meli quickly leap down it. I start laughing, I was right that was hilarious!

"Shouldn't we go down with him?" I heard a soft voice from beside me. "Sure we're leaving anyway!" I say smiling at her. I get up from my former sitting position and walk to Eli and put my hand out. She gladly excepted and we jump down the hole as I make sure she doesn't get fall damage.

"Wait hang on I'll be back." Elizabeth said as she walked back inside. I walk over to Meliodas.

"Well, guess we should head out to Baste," Meliodas says to me and Hawk as we walk along the road to the prison. I nod my head in agreement, while Hawk asks, "Do you plan on leaving Elizabeth behind? She hasn't come out yet."Meliodas spins his broken sword on his finger while answering. "Hey, don't be stupid, she's definitely better off staying put here in town. Besides, the Holy Knight's over in Baste are after her. Jeez, you really are stupid."
