The sound of strong rain hitting the window awakes me from a deep sleep.
I squint my eyes, adjusting to my surroundings. Grayson's large apartment is immaculate, save the odd bits of clothing that are sprawled across the floor, but immediately I relish the feel of his soft duvet against my warm, bare skin.
Turning, I smile at the sight of Grayson, fast asleep and well...beautiful.
At the sight of our naked bodies side by side, I can't help but blush. Grayson's large, toned torso is exposed, the duvet only covering him from the waist down. He still wears his gleaming silver watch, and of course his chain still hangs around his neck, which I've come to love.
Last night was more amazing than I could ever have imagined, but now I don't know why I feel so self-conscious.
Scanning my eyes across the apartment, I'm relieved to spot my bag at the other end of the room.
I've got my clothes with me this time around, so I don't need to slide into a pair of Grayson's boxers or an oversized hoodie—though that does sound more appealing than the black leggings and maroon knitted sweater that I've packed in that bag.
If I'm quiet enough, quick enough, I could change and be ready before Grayson even awakes.
Taking a breath, I delicately peel the duvet away from my body, my legs swinging from the mattress. But I don't know why I bothered, because before I can even lift myself I find Grayson's large hand land on my shoulder.
"And where do you think you're going?" His voice is croaky, laced with sleep.
I smile and blush, scooping the duvet back over myself. "Sorry. I was just going to the bathroom."
Grayson leans on his elbows, his menacing smile tormenting me. Clearly, he can sense my lies.
"Okay, you caught me," I say. "I was going to dress."
Leaning over me, Grayson rests his hand against my hair, stroking it gently, placing a soft kiss onto my lips. "You've no need to be shy around me. You're beautiful. Remember that."
I smile, playing with a loose fray of the duvet.
"Last night was amazing," he mumbles, his dark hair perfectly messy.
I lift my hand to caress his stubble, smiling at the warmth behind his eyes. "I thought so too," I say, running my fingers along the cold chain around his neck.
I'm not used to lying in bed naked, let alone next to Grayson. Even when Tommy and I used to have sex, I'd always put my pyjamas on after. And that was a rarity anyway.
I had pyjamas packed in readiness to come here, but after the perfect night Grayson and I shared, it felt natural to sleep naked against him. Saying that, I barely remember falling asleep at all. Only that Grayson scooped me under his arm and let me lay across his chest whilst I stared to the city outside.
