Jacob

Jacob Johnson sits in the front of the classroom finishing the boring assignment for Mrs. Prier, his English teacher. For the assignment you have to write an adventure story of your choosing. He decided to write about an evil sorcerer trying to destroy the kingdom, where a knight in shining armor saves the day. About as cliché as you could get.

Jacob finishes the story with, “Then the Prince and his new bride ride off into the sunset.” As he stands up to hand it in he notices Mrs. Prier talking to someone outside the door. Her well-manicured hands are holding the door tightly as if she were stressed about something. As her auburn bun on top of her head begins to turn back to the classroom Jacob quickly looks away and walks up to her desk to hand in his story.

By the time he gets back to his desk the final bell rings and everyone gets up to leave class. As Jacob starts walking toward the door Mrs. Prier called him back to her desk, causing a few snickers from his classmates. When he gets to her desk he sees she is reading his story.

“What do you need Mrs. Prier?” He asked warily.

“This story is the most cliché one I have read so far. Is it supposed to be this way?” She replies.

“Um……. Yes, it was all I could think of.” Jacob says nervously.

“Well, no matter how cliché some of it is, I like it.” She says happily, giving him a smile.

“Okay, that’s good. I guess.” He comments.

She looks at him with a thoughtful look and explains, “I have some friends who need some help with something. Could you do it for me?”

Jacob cautiously looks at her wanting for her to explain more. “Okay, I guess I could.”

“Great,” she says with a huge smile “would you please sit in the front desk. I have to explain what is going to happen.”

Jacob sits down as she walks to the white board and grabs a marker. No, not a marker, but a long stick that Jacob has never seen before. He suddenly fears she is going to hit him with it, but realizes sweet Mrs. Prier in her long, purple dress and slender, tall figure would never do something that violent. He waits at the desk watching her anxiously.

She walks up to him and taps his head with the stick. He immediately starts to feel drowsy and the world starts to spin. He stares at her shockingly, green eyes as he slowly loses consciousness, until he completely passes out.

Harriet

Harriet Killigrews’ day had started perfectly normal; she and her crew had just finished stealing all the treasure off of a royal vessel, bombarded an enemy ship, and just got done with their lunch. Yup, a completely normal day.

Of course it had to get worse.

It all started when she and her crew had ransacked another royal vessel, but it was a decoy with no treasure. All that was there was a blonde man in his skin tight shirt and his velvety pants. Why he would wear velvet pants in the middle of the ocean, I don’t know. He stood there with a sword in hand looking ready to fight the whole crew. He must have realized how outnumbered he was, because he tried to retreat to his cabin. It was a poor choice because her crew had already surrounded the whole ship making it impossible for escape.
