Too far: Prologue

Nicole's POV

"X-7, please standby! You're up in five minutes!" I heard one of the staffs yelled.

Ni-retouch ko ng onti yung make-up ni Kent. Inayos ko rin ng onti yung bangs niya. I smiled proudly, looking at my master peace. I tapped his shoulder, smiling at him.

"Yan, oks ka na!" I said. He smiled at me, raising his hand. "High five, noona!" He said.

Kinuha ko yung panyo ko sa bulsa, tapos pinunasan yung pawis ko. Halos every other day ata, may event ang X-7. Make sense, dahil comeback nila ngayon. I'm one of their make up artist, mainly for Kent. Kent is my long-time crush since mag debut sila, pero hindi ako pwede umamin.

Besides sa "No dating policy" sa contract nila, there is one strict rule that Starlight Entertainment staffs must obey. "Do not fall in love with Starlight entertainment artists."

Once na malaman ng higher ups na may pag tingin ka sa artists nila, automatic na wala ka nang trabaho. I remember my senior dati, she's the one who guided me nung bago pa lang ako sa Starlight entertainment. One month later, I heard that she got fired, dahil sinumbong siya ng isang colleague namin sa higher ups. Kaya ako, eto. Kahit ni isang kaluluwa, wala akong pinag sabihan na crush ko si Kent.

I was about to sit down, when someone grabbed me. I raised my head to look, kung sino yung humatak sakin. Turns out, it was my childhood friend, Ryo.

"Ryo, saan mo ko dadalhin?" I asked.

I felt him stop, once na makarating kami sa medyo madilim na part ng hallway. Hinarap niya ko sakanya, and I saw him looking so serious.

"Let me ask you one thing, Nicole. Do you like Kent?"

Fuck. "A-anong pinag sasabi mo? Hindi ko siya-"

"You can't fool me Nics. Kung ako sayo, pigilan mo na yang nararamdaman mo kung ayaw mo mawalan ng trabaho."

With that, he left me to go back to their dressing room.

I felt my knees weakened. Napaupo na lang ako at sumandal sa sahig. Bakit kasi sa lahat ng taong magugustuhan ko, si Kent pa.

It's not like magugustuhan din ako ni Kent. I'm just a mere makeup artist. I can't possibly reach him, he's too far.
