A few days later...

Joker locked me back in my old room, where the incident happened. His henchmen would leave food at my door, and leave as fast as they got there. They would avoid any type of interaction assuming the threats Joker made.
Joker had also been acting strange.
He didn't come to check on me anymore.
Was he mad at me?
Although it sounded ridiculous, I didn't want him to hate me. If he did, it meant I would die before I even had a chance to find a way out.

As I paced around the room, harshly tugging at my hair, I heard the distant footsteps getting louder.
I could feel the presence of someone else on the other side of the door. They just stood motionless, until I heard a soft sigh and then the jingles of keys. The door unlocked.
The one and only Joker stood there in the flesh.
His presence made me nauseous, but also a bit of rage. I wanted to yell at him and rant about why he hadn't come to check on me. At the same time, he made me feel uneasy by his unpredictable demeanor.
He walked around the room examining everything. I stood there awkwardly waiting for him to speak first.

"hmm... it must be sickening to be locked up in uh room all day." He spoke. And then paused his pacing, waiting for an answer.
I knew he was mocking me and found my suffering amusing.

"um... yes it is..?" I responded. I never knew how to talk to the clown. Anything I said to him would be wrong.
He made his way closer to the door, and I almost felt sad that he was leaving again.
Being locked up in a room can get pretty lonely.

"Oh and we have plans today... so uh get ready!" he said with a big grin.

"Plans? What pla-"

Before I could finish my sentence, Joker slammed the door in my face. I could hear his faint laughter as he walked farther away.
I went back to the spot on my bed and groaned.
Plans? What could he be up to...
I didn't want to be part of any of his schemes. But it was way to late for that. It was already too late when I accepted a ride from a stranger.

The familiar sound of the door made me sit up. A tall henchmen walked into the room with some neatly folded up clothes. I had seen the man before. He was the henchmen who would usually deliver me food, but he never stepped foot into the room.

"The boss wanted me to give you these." He said as he handed me the piece of clothing.
I nodded my head, and before I could thank him he was already gone.
I took a long look at the clothing, and then I realized something. These were my clothes!
Had Joker gone back to my house?
That couldn't be good. What if my mom was there and he hurt her!
A lump formed in my throat, but I tried to swallow it down. Although I was definitely going to ask him about it, I couldn't worry about it right now. I didn't have clue of things he had in store for me and thoughts of my mom would only make me feel worse.
I grabbed the pile of clothes and headed towards the bathroom.

It felt nice to finally change into clothing of my own. It brought me a bit of warmth and reassurance.

The loud movement of henchmen told me to finish up getting ready, and make my way out.
I opened the door enough to peak my head out. To my luck the hallway was empty and the rush was coming from downstairs.
As I made my way down the stairs, I became conscious of how out of place I felt. I was a boring high school student surrounded by a bunch of criminals.
