AN: If I ever write about either Kirstie or Avi having an SO of any sort, I'm going to make someone up. I don't want to badmouth real people. Kirstie's boyfriend seems like a really good guy and she seems truly happy, so it would be totally wrong for me to say something bad about him. I just wanted to get that out of the way before I started!

Kirstie was tired of hiding the way she felt. She'd finally admitted to herself a few months ago that her crush on Avi wasn't going to go away. For the first few months after winning The Sing-Off, she'd harbored a tiny crush on the bass but it slowly grew as time passed.

She had hoped that, during their break away from each other for Christmas, she'd slowly begin to get rid of the crush. Instead, she spent a good portion of the break thinking about Avi, hoping he was doing well. She would never admit it but she'd also spent a good portion of the break scanning Twitter for any posts he made.

Everyone was back in Los Angeles now. Her feelings were back in full force and she knew that something had to give or she'd go crazy. Maybe she needed to talk to someone? It had to be someone who could understand the situation, though, so that meant only her closest friends. Normally, she went straight to Esther with any "girl problems," but she was out of the question, for obvious reasons. She only considered Scott or Kevin briefly; both of them, although nice as could be, could be a bit oblivious when it came to emotional issues.

That left Mitch. He'd been her rock all through high school when it came to emotions. If anyone could help, it would be him. She knew it was stereotypical and wrong to say, but she was infinitely glad she had a gay best friend. He truly understood her when it came to boy problems.

She rolled out of bed and went to the living room, phone in hand. After getting comfortable on the plushy couch that she'd spent entirely too much money on, she sent a text to Mitch asking if he could come over. She recieved an affirmative a few seconds later, promising to bring breakfast and company.

She'd just gotten ten points on Flappy Bird when the doorbell rang, causing her to lose her concentration and lose. Grumbling, she made her way to the front door and let Mitch in, who was looking amused at her sour demeanor. The smell of McDonald's breakfast turned her frown upside down, though, and soon they were happily eating and chatting on her couch.

The conversation began to lull and Kirstie knew that she needed to speak. "Although I love your company, that's not the only reason I asked you to come this morning."

Mitch, sensing that whatever she was about to say would be important, uncharacteristically stayed quiet and motioned for her to continue. Kirstie took a deep breath and looked down at her lap and quietly spoke. "IlikeAvi."

Mitch's eyebrows scrunched up and he rolled his eyes. "Kirst, you're going to have to speak up. I know how loud you are. Your volume is here," he motioned low down with his hands. "When it needs to be here," this time, he motioned much higher up.

Feeling like a stupid teenager all over again, she squared her shoulders and turned to look him straight in the eyes. "I like Avi and have since I met him." It was Kirstie's turn to roll her eyes at Mitch's shocked face.

Mitch couldn't believe what he'd just heard. "You're serious? Why am I just now hearing about this?! A year and half and I haven't even noticed?! Kirstie!" She'd never kept her feelings about boys to herself, especially not for that long.

She half-smirked at him. "Of course you haven't noticed. No one has. That's the point of hiding the way I feel." Her smirk turned into a frown. "I just... I needed to tell someone. I haven't been able to talk to anyone about this. At least, anyone who understands the situation." Cautiously, she eyed Mitch. "You're not angry, are you?"
