Chapter 12

Since Dad passed away Tito Anton has been very compassionate and kind to our family. He's treating me like his own daughter. He make sure that Mom, Xavier and I are in a good condition.

Kaya maling mali na husgahan siya ni Lennox.

"I will find more information. I—I can just investigate this all by myself. Tama si Stella delikado ito, Blair. I...I don't want you to get hurt just because of my recklessness." He suggested. His eyes were full of worries and fears. Hindi ko alam kung tama ang nakita ko sa kanyang mga mata.

Umiling ako at napaayos sa pagkakaupo.

"No! Gusto kong malaman ang totoong nangyari kay Daddy and I want to be there. I want to know every details of it—you... you don't need to worry about me. I can...take care of myself. Lennox, you said we'll do this together kaya sasamahan kita hanggang malaman natin ang katotohanan." My voice turns to be so soft.

Pansin ko ang diin ng kanyang titig sa akin hanggang sa matapos akong masalita.

Napa-buntonghininga na lang siya at isinandal ang ulo sa kanyang upuan. I  saw how fast his adams apple moved. Pumikit siya ng mariin bago tumingin sa akin.

"You—You're really making this hard for me huh. Right! If that's what you want then we'll do this together."

I smiled at him. Masaya ako dahil kahit papaano ay may pakialam siya sa akin. Kahit minsan hindi ko gusto ang pakikitungo niya sa akin pero ngayon nag-aalala siya sa akin. It means he doesn't want me to get hurt.

I am grateful of him.

"Okay. My man will give us some of the documents today. 'Iyong mga papeles ng imbestigador niyo sa kulungan...and I'm hoping na may bagong inpormasyon siyang maibibigay sa atin, Blair."

"Yes..yes, Salamat sa tulong mo."

"No need to say thank you. Babayadan mo naman ako, ginagawa ko lang ng maayos ang trabaho ko."

Right. He's just looking out for me because he needs money. He needs my money. Iyon lang 'yon at wala ng iba.

Ilang sandali pa ay dumating na ang tauhan niya. Nagulat ako ng hindi matanda ang dumating kundi bata pa. Kasing-edad lang namin siguro 'to.

Lennox stood up and tapped his friend's shoulder.

"Letizia, this is my friend Aurelius. He's going to help us with your Dad's case. Aurelius, this is uh...Letizia..."

Tumayo rin ako at binati siya.

"Hello, I am Letizia. Nice to meet you! Thank you for helping us." I smiled at him.

I offered my hand for formality but I was shocked when he held my hand and kissed it. Mukhang hindi lang ako ang nagulat dahil napaubo rin si Lennox sa ginawa ng kanyang kaibigan.

"Fuck off, Ali! Don't you dare—"

Aurelius laughed at him.

"Chill, dude. Nagpapakilala lang ako sa kanya. I am not going to harass her."

Kumunot ang noo ni Lennox.

"Tss. Shut up, idiot! I know your moves." He said and rolled his eyes.

"Sorry, Letizia. That's my way of introducing myself. I'm sorry if you got a little bit shocked." He remarked and winked at me.

Napatawa nalang ako sa sinabi niya.

"Alright. That's enough, let's start this! Sit beside me, Ali." He ordered.

"I'll just sit beside her, Lex. Para maipakita at ma-explain ko sa kanya ng maayos ang mga inpormasyon at dokumento." He announced and fastly sat beside my chair.
