"Here's the deal, we will be on this bus for about an hour before our first stop. Make sure you stay focused," Shouta's flat voice struggled against the overwhelming banter that filled the bus. The class paid little attention to him or his commands as they happily chatted amongst themselves in pairs. We were finally on our way to the training camp, and my heart fluttered with excitement. I sat next to Jirou, who seemed nervous.

"Are you okay, Jirou?" I asked the girl. She jumped out of her skin at the sound of my voice. I saw her stiffen as she averted her gaze away from me. I folded my arms across my chest and began to lean on the cold surface of the window beside me. "You honestly can't still be scared of me after all this time?" I tried again, but she continued to ignore me. "Y'know, if anyone should be scared, it's me. Your quirk is devastating to my hearing. You know that."

Jirou flashed me a nervous look. "I'm sorry, Amara. It's silly of me." She fiddled with her fingernails as she glanced down at her lap.

I scoffed, my lips turning upright. "You got that right. I don't bite very hard." I teased the girl.

"So, how are you and Todoroki going? You both seem so happy," she changed the subject.

"We're doing fine. I haven't met his family yet, but that's okay. I'm not pushing for it. We are still both only 15 years old," I said. I saw the girl nod as she continued to pick at her fingernails.

"Why do you ask?"

"Oh, no reason in particular. Yaoyorozu has her own opinions, and I'm sick of listening to them," she mumbled.

"Oh," My dark orbs slid over to where Yaoyorozu sat in the bus a few rows in front of us. "I see. I don't really care what the damn tree has to say about my relationship."

"The tree?" she asked me, her dark eyes collided with mine for a moment before she quickly looked away.

"Yeah, she's very tall. Usually, I refer to her as 'giant bitch,' but that's not very family-friendly," I explained. To my surprise, Jirou laughed quietly, bringing a hand up to her face to cover her mouth.

"That's funny, you both hate each other, but you both have cute nicknames for each other," she said. My dark eyes widened; I so wanted to hear this nickname of hers. I opened my mouth to speak, but the bus halted.

"Everyone, get out," my uncle spat as he strolled off the bus first. The bus deflated as everyone left. My knees crackled when I stood up straight. We had stopped at what looked like an outpost, with a tremendous view of lush, green forest that extended as far as my eyes could see. Dirt layered the floor in clumps that quickly unsettled when I took a step. I noticed a rich black sedan parked near us but paid no attention to its black tinted windows. My eyes found Shoto, and I ambled over to him. I groaned as I rested the side of my head against the length of his forearm affectionately. He lifted his arm up and wrapped it around me.

"Ew, what is this?" I asked him with a grin.

"Affection?" he peered down at me.

"It's disgusting." I sunk deeper into his torso. "Keep doing it."

"You don't really think we stopped here so you could have a chance to stretch your legs, do you?" Shouta's voice sliced through the air, stealing everyone's attention. I raised an eyebrow at him, wondering what he would say next.

"Hey there, Eraser," a feminine voice sounded. I turned around to see two women in cat hero costumes as they strolled confidently out of the black sedan. It was the Wild Wild Pussycats; I recognized them from the news.

"These are the heroes you'll be working with at the summer training camp," my uncle explained.

"We own this whole stretch of land out here. The summer camp you're staying at is there at the base of the mountain," the red cat lady said. My heart began to sink when I started to piece together what our next task would be.
