BEEEEEEEP. BEEEEEEEEP. BEEEEEEEEP.

"I must have the most annoying alarm clock in the world." I thought to myself as I dragged my body out of bed.

I sighed and got up to go to the bathroom. You see, here at the orphanage, four people share on bathroom. There are two rooms, two people to a room, and I, Clara, am in the girls section. But I'm alone. You see, because of the rumors flying around at the orphanage, the girl who was with me, Brooke, moved her bed into the other room. Just as well for me. I like being alone.

I stepped into the bathroom and opened the drawer marked: "Clara" where I kept my things. I brushed my teeth, did my hair, and put on a touch of makeup.

I rushed downstairs, as it was time for breakfast. I ate at a table by myself. I looked up from my food to see a different table of girls laughing at me. I didn't feel so hungry anymore, so I threw my food away.

"Alright everyone listen up!" Shouted Miss Carr. Miss Carr was our director of activities here at Sunny Side. "Today we have some very important people coming! Five boys will be coming to adopt a girl today!" Many of the girls started whispering to each other hopefully. I turned back to the stairs, unexcited. People never adopted me. There's really no reason to, and people usually want younger girls anyway.

I walked up stairs to my room. I opened my guitar case, and started strumming chords to "Beautiful" by Carly Rae Jepsen softly and hummed the tune. There was a knock on my door.

"Clara? You need to come downstairs sweetie, these boys want to see all the girls between eight and eighteen." Miss Carr said.

"I'll be right down!" I called through the door. I put my guitar back in my case. "Well at least they're looking for an older girl," I muttered to myself. I trudged downstairs, not particularly excited to be participating.

I sat down in a squishy chair that seemed to want to hold me captive. (AKA: sinking) Five boys walked into the room. They looked slightly familiar, but I didn't couldn't figure out who they were. A few of the girls started whispering to each other, and one looked like she might faint. A few of them rolled their eyes, and others were like me, unknowing and uncaring.

The boys split up and made their way around the room, talking to different girls. I opened my book and decided to read until they got to me. I opened to page 238 of "Paper Airplanes"

"Because there are some people in life that you have to forgive, no matter what they do. Because without them your nothing. You have no choice. You can't escape it when you love someone. It becomes a part of who you are. If you're lucky enough to stop loving someone who doesn't love you, then fine, but if you can't, then it's the worst pain a -"

My book was cut short, as a slightly intimidating but fairly good looking boy sat in the chair opposite me. I closed my book.

"Hello," he smiled at me. "I'm Zayn."

"Clara," I replied.

"What are you reading Clara?" He asked, smiling.

"Paper Airplanes," I replied. Why does this guy smile so much?

"Is it any good?"

"Oh, it's amazing! It's about two unlikely friends, bad girl Renee and good girl Flo. They become the best friends people could be, and they support each other through everyone even though they have very rough lives themselves... Sorry, I'm rambling."

"No, I don't mind a bit. You seem nice Clara."

"Thank you," I blushed.

"Well look, I need to talk to some of the girls now, but I'll talk to you later okay?"

"Later?" I thought to myself. "Um, sure, that's fine."

"Great!" He smiled.

A/N: Sorry, I know it's crappy but I tried. I shall continue to update as soon as possible.
