"I'm telling you, you've got the wrong person!" Elisabeth says as the officer who just arrested her handcuffs her to a table. She was put in a boring, plain room with a mirror. She knew she was in an interrogation room. After what felt like hours, someone walks into the room and sits in front of her.
"I'm Agent Garza with the FBI," they introduce themselves, " I'd like to ask you some questions. Is that okay?" Elisabeth silently nods.
"Do you know who this is?" Agent Garza says as she places a photo of a girl with brown hair on the table.
"Yes, that's Marie Cavanaugh. She was killed last week." Elisabeth says looking at the agent.
"How do you know her?" The agent asks.
"Well not only have you guys not kept this quiet on TV but it's in the paper, on social media, no one hasn't heard about it." She pauses.
"Along with the other 11 girls. There's a serial killer." She finishes.
The Agent looks at Elisabeth then looks at the picture then back at Elisabeth. She lets out a sigh catching Elisabeth's attention.
"What?" Elisabeth asks.
The Agent stares at her for a few seconds. Elisabeth didn't like this feeling she had in her gut. She knew she hadn't done anything wrong and she knew that if her and the FBI had the same profile for this serial, they would know that she DID NOT fit that profile. So, why was she here? Why was she in this dark room, chained to a table? Elisabeth looks at the Agent, forming a question in her head.
"Agent Garza?" she finally says.
"Yes?" Garza says looking at Elisabeth with confusion.
"Why am I here?" she says concerned.
Elisabeth was scared she was in a lot of trouble. Maybe they knew she was looking into the murders herself. Maybe they knew about all the tips she gave to the police that they ignored. Or the angry call she gave them after being ignored. Or maybe they...
"-think you killed these girls." Agent Garza says.
Elisabeth was taken back by the thought of her hurting someone. Let alone someone her age.
"WHAT?!" Elisabeth says.
Elisabeth didn't know what to do, she had a solid alibi for all of the murders. She has receipts to prove it. But were they going to believe her? Would they listen to what she's learned from her own investigating.
Elisabeth didn't say anything for a few seconds. She just sort of stared at the the thought of what would happen next. She was snapped out of her stare by Agent Garza standing up to leave.
"Wait," Elisabeth said. "What's going to happen now?"
The Agent just looked down and closed the the door behind her as if she was disappointed in Elisabeth or herself. This confused Elisabeth.
Elisabeth kept saying in her head over and over 'i don't fit the profile, i don't fit the profile.' All of the sudden with a burst of confidence, Elisabeth stood up, slammed her hands onto the table she was handcuffed to, and said loudly "I DONT FIT THE PROFILE!!"
