Chapter 48

It was currently break time and I haven't seen Marlene in my first two periods. Luckily, I have Selena for both and am quite excited for what the school year has in store.

"Ok, so catch me up" Selena announced, as we both sat down at 'our' table.

"Um, so me and Marlene went to the party. We stayed over there for a couple of weeks and well I have a boyfriend and so does she" I briefly explained.

"I actually do as well" she smiled.

"Oh my god, I'm so excited for you! Can I meet him, what's his name?" I cheered.

"What's yours and Marlene's?" she tried avoiding.

"Justin, but referred to as Jc and Connor" I responded, trying to ignore the whole thing.

"Hey guys!" Marlene cheered, as she sat with us.

"Hey" Selena and I greeted in unison.

"What are you guys doing?" she asked, making herself comfortable.

"Melissa was just catching me up on your guys' summer" Selena smiled.

"Nice, so I'm guessing she spoiled my surprise?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah... she kind of did" Selena giggled.

"I mean could you blame me" I shrugged playfully.

"True" Marlene answered.

"So what do you guys have next?" Marlene asked.

"I have Calculus" I answered.

"I have Keyboarding" Selena answered.

"Keyboard swag, I like it" I winked.

"I got photography" Marlene randomly said.

"Now Melissa, you have a boyfriend" Selena chuckled.

"Not for long" I heard Marlene mutter.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh, I said I like that song" she said pointing at a cell phone playing some indie music.

"That's not what I heard, but ok" I smiled.

"Do you wanna hang today? I got a car" Selena asked, looking at Marlene then at me.

"Where shall we go?" I chirped.

"I don't know... maybe movies? Then, some food" Selena shrugged "I'm open to suggestions."

"Sure, I'll just tell Jc I'll be back later" I stated as I took out my phone and texted Jc: Going to hang out with ma homies after school, I'll be home late.

The bell rang, which called for break ending. The rest of my day was amazing, I absolutely love my schedule and I hope this year will be my best school year ever. After, the school day ended, Selena waited outside my last class of the day, (Drama) to make sure and I quote 'I wouldn't get lost on the way to the car'.

"So you're calling me stupid?" I laughed.

"No, just not very bright" Selena rolled her eyes playfully.

"So... stupid?" I repeated.

"Oh my God, get over it Mel!" she laughed.

"Whatever" I scoffed, as I rolled my eyes. "Where's Marlene doe?"

"Where she at doe?" Selena asked.

"That's literally what I just said" I spat playfully.

"Kill. Me. Now." she held up her hand and pretended it was a gun as she 'shot herself'.

"You love me doe" I winked, as I hugged her.

"Sorry Mel, you aren't my type" she laughed, as I gasped.

"I'm so offended, can I still be your Woman Crush Wednesday?" I requested.

"Of course,"Selena responded, as she took out her phone "do something cute."

"I-I was kidding" I stuttered, as my face stayed emotionless.

"I wasn't" Selena pointed at herself, as I gave in.

"Ok, whatever, sassy pants" I flipped my hair, as I laughed. I stopped and then stood up, trying to look cute, while putting a peace sign up and sticking my tongue out.

"Girl, you flawless" she snapped her fingers.

"I woke up like this" I laughed, as I swiped my hand across the bottom of my chin.

"Where is Marlene?" Selena asked annoyed.

And as if on cut Marlene texted me:

Hey Melissa I'm not gonna be able to go...

Of course I responded with...

No man left behind hoe, now get your ass out here

And her response:

I have to study boo, sorry

And then I ended it with:

Boo, you whore

"Looks like Marlene won't be joining us" I sighed.

"Aww... why not?" Selena asked.

"'Cause little slut is 'studying'" I pouted.

"On the first day of school?" Selena pointed out.

"Bullshit." I growled.

"It's ok! You still got me!" Selena cheered.
