I awake from a deep slumber, slightly panicked by seeing a bright blue till the realization it was a note stuck to my forehead. Frustrated and groggily I pull the note back for my eyes to readjust and read it out loud to myself. " I'll be home around seven, will you please put the hotdogs in the sink to defrost." Sighing I get up to find clothes and a towel, after a hot shower and getting dressed I see a blanket of snow has covered the neighborhood. Smiling I trot down the stairs into the kitchen and see a pot of coffee sitting on the burner and grab a cup muttering thanks to my mother for leaving it there. I fill my cup adding a little creamer in to take away the diesel like taste. I boot my boots on and lace them up creeping around the corner to see the 98 pounds of muscle ready to bolt I turn around and quickly jog to the back door and open it. After unleashing the 98 pounds of muscle and slobber into the back yard I smiling watching him chomp at the snow then give privacy for " business" to be done. Shaking the light layer of snow that built up on his back and smiles looking in my direction, I feel my phone go off and set my cup down on the banister answering the call in a cheerful voice, " Hello?" A deep raspy voice on the end of the line laughs cynically and I hang up. Shuddering from the breeze and the thoughts that swim across my mind bull tugs at my jeans and I check my phone once more after receiving a text.
