CADY'S PROLOGUE
Cady had three crushes when she was in Africa. One on a Kenyan boy when she was 5 but that one didn't last, he ran from her and he was very fast. One on this peace corps guy but that one didn't last either, she waited in his tent with flowers but that just made him laugh. And the last one was actually on a Kenyan girl when she was 13. She stayed closeted because her parents are traditionalists and they would most likely get angry at her so she still hasn't come out yet.
JANIS'S PROLOGUE
Janis had slowly but surely realized that she was lesbian. She realized that she was because her and Damian had dated for a while but it didn't feel natural so the ended things and stayed as best friends. She came out to her parents when she was about 14, this didn't come as much of a surprise to her parents as they knew that she was going to at some point they were completely fine with her being a lesbian and were very supportive of her.
