To Love A Princess

"Daddy, tell me a story before I sleep,

And afterwards, I promise I wont make a peep,

Let it be filled with a prince and a princess, with even a dragon,

Daddy, tell me a story of true love that's just begun,"

"Oh dear one, I'll tell you one story,

And I'll fill it with light, joy, and of loves glory,

But let me warn you that hardships follow all, 

Even those who are righteous and hear God's call,

So here my story begins.....

Here we have a prince all alone, one who longs for true love,

He trust fully in the one who lives above,

"What maiden have you made for me, I pray thee,

Let me know so I may give my heart to only she,"

He would ask and ask to finally find the on,

And yet she lived nearby, just under the sun,

Her days were filled with laughter and cheer,

She being the daughter her father held so near,

The father knew it was close time she was free,

To find love , to find life, to just be,

But what would fit for his daughters heart,

What man could keep it and never let it fall apart,

But to meet they would in some weird way,

To see her eyes just once, the prince knew she held the rest of his days,

They would talk and laugh and learn how to trust,

And both father's, God and man, watched together as they must,

Soon the two found they truly did love the other,

And their love wasn't like any other,

He found he would die if any threat was brought against her, 

And she, she would serve him as if he was her sir,

What they felt was true and all together strong,

Something no evil could consume or could even belong..."

"But Daddy, you missed a big part,

Where does the dragon and danger start?"

"Darling, you never did let me finish," he smiled,

"The dragon is just about to come in my child,

Now back to a story that defies all of fate,
