"Dream." George spoke from behind Dream's back.
"Yeah?" Dream turned around from where he was sitting at his desk, editing his video to see George leaning on the doorframe, waiting.
"You know what day it is?" George continued, a smile tugging at the edge of his lips.
Damn, that's cute.
What?
Dream frowned. Was he forgetting something? "No....?" Dream responded, slowly.
"It's my birthday!" George beamed. "It's the first of November!"
Dream whipped around, checking the date on his monitor.
"Of course! I'm so sorry, I forgot! I didn't get you anything!" Dream stood up, looking around his room, running a hand through his hair. "I'm so sorry George!"
"Oh no, it's okay." George rushed to assure the blond haired boy. "It's okay. We never really talked about it anyways. And I didn't want anything for my birthday anyway."
"Are you sure? Isn't there anything I could do? I mean, it's your birthday." Dream asked, flustered at his mistake. George smiled even wider.
"Actually, there is." George whipped out a pair of tickets he'd been hiding behind his back, which had previously gone unnoticed by Dream, until now. Dream leaned in, peering at the wording on the tickets. Dream sat up, surprised.
"No way!"
"Yep! I've wanted to see that movie for so long, so I decided to save it for my birthday! The movie starts around 7ish, but it's only around 5:30, so we have time to go grab a meal at a restaurant!" George bubbled excitedly.
"Of course. Let me change real quick." Dream smiled.
George nodded happily and closed the door, leaving Dream to change on his own. Dream sat down, burying his head in his hands.
How could I've forgotten George's birthday? I'm such a bad friend. Idiot.
Dream stood up, taking a deep breath, and walked to his closet, scanning it for a good outfit. Dream eventually settled on a simple, comfortable hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. He slid the outfit on, running a hand through his hair, slightly anxious at his appearance.
Chill out. It's not a date.
Dream chuckled at himself, turning away from the mirror.
I wish it -- no.
He pushed the door open, surprised to see George standing right outside the door.
"Oh! Hey!" George laughed, turning away from Dream, leading him to the front door. Dream followed, getting even more excited himself. George pushed open the front door and turned around to see if Dream was still following. George's eyes were sparkling, and he beckoned Dream over into the car. "Come on! There's this new sushi place I want to go to."
Dream perked up a little. Sushi? That would be something Dream would enjoy immensely, and judging by George's expression, so would George. Dream smiled at the childlike expression of joy on George's face, and climbed into the car, next to George. Dream laughed, watching George's excited bouncing.
"Calm down. This sushi place isn't going anywhere." Dream spoke to George, amused. George ignored it, continuing to bounce in his seat like a little kid. Dream shook his head, sticking a hand out of the window, feeling the cool evening air rush through his fingers. Too cool. Dream retracted his fingers from the cold air, rubbing his hands together.
