Stefan was staring deeply into the crowded club, his friend was getting lap dances from some girl he'd just met. Stefan was bored, 'Hey man,' he said. 'Can we go?' 'No way man, this is the most action I've gotten in months.' Timothy replied. Stefan sighed, he wasn't a fan of crowds, he scolded himself.
'I should've stayed home.' He walked away from Timothy, and headed for the bar. Seated at the bar was a young black woman in her early twenties. She was wearing a red bodycon dress, her curls framed her face perfectly.
'Why does she look so familiar,' Stefan thought to himself going through his mind as to where he might've seen this gorgeous woman.
'Excuse me, ma'am,' he got her attention. 'Do I happen to know you?' She smiled, it was perfect, not because it looked like she had years of braces, but because she it was her natural smile, she had a slight gap. But her teeth were as white as ever, her lips were like curtain velvet, perfectly full and smooth. 'No, I'm sorry I don't think so.' She seemed hesitant, but delighted someone decided to strike up a conversation with her. 'I'm sorry, I could've swore I've seen you before. How rude of me,' he extended his hand, 'I'm Stefan.' He flashed her a smile that melted her on the inside. She shook his hand, she had a firm hand grip. 'Hi Stefan, I-.' Before she can finish her sentence she's tapped on her shoulder by her friend, Noelle.
'You ready to go babe? Kiara needs to be at work early tomorrow.' 'Yeah that's fine, I'm sorry I have to go, it was nice meeting you Stefan.' She stared in his eyes, like she's known him for years. She extended her hand out, he stared into her soul, while grabbing it and kissing it lightly. 'I never got your name,' he looked as she grabbed his phone off the counter and gave it to him. 'Here,' she said 'Take my number down, text me and you might get it.' She said winking at him.  He smiled ' okay.' She gave him her number, they both said goodbye. He smiled, as he watched her walk out, she looked back meet his gaze. Smiling at him before disappearing into the night.

Stefan woke up to chirping, it was his bird Zee. 'Hey darling, you hungry?' He walked to the kitchen to feed her, made himself a pop tart, and made his way back to the room. He picked up his guitar, he tried his hardest to finish up the song he'd been working on for awhile. However, his mind kept going back to the previous night. Jane Doe, he was so caught up over a woman that he didn't even know the name of.
He was nervous to text her, 'What do I even say?' Stefan hadn't been in a relationship for years, it'd been awhile since he had to work up the courage to text a woman. 'Imma do it, freak it.' He swiped his phone off his bed, he stared at the empty text thread. 'Hey,' he started to write he quickly erased it. 'I don't even know how to do this,' he attempted at the text again. 'It's Stefan from last night,' sent. He threw his phone on the bed, his stomach fluttering at what she might say. Buzzz Buzzz, his phone was ringing. He picked his phone up, it was just Timothy.
'Bro you know that girl that I took home last night?' Stefan wasn't in the mood to hear about this. Timothy was, for lack of a better word, a hoe. 'Yeah man,' Stefan replied flatly, ' what about her?' 'Bro I really thought her and I were vibing, she spent the night last night. I just woke up to find out she left' Stefan laughed to himself, Timothy was the type to do the same thing to many women but it was funny to see it happen to him.
'She said she could've seen us together, I let her play as my player on 2k man!' Timothy's voice was growing louder. 'I'm sorry man,' Stefan was trying to hide the fact he was laughing, 'I'll have to call you later, I'm working on this song.' 'Ight bro, I'll catch you later.' Stefan hung up the phone. He wasn't going to tell Timothy about the mystery girl he met last night, Timothy would be the type to tell him to just hit it and quit it.  He looked at his messages, trying to see if he can refresh them. 'I knew it was too soon to text her,' Stefan tossed his phone on the bed Buzzz Buzzz his phone was ringing again.
'I swear if it's him again,' Stefan picked the phone up to see she was calling him. He was so happy he couldn't stop smiling, he looked at himself in the mirror fixing his bed head.
'What am I doing?' he chuckled 'She can't see me over the phone.' He cleared his throat 'Hello?' 'Good morning,' her voice was so soothing 'How was the rest of your night?' she seemed genuinely interested 'It was ok, I don't really like clubs like that, my friend just didn't want to go alone.' His voice was shaking 'Aww that's nice of you to go with him, are you doing anything this afternoon? I called to see if you wanted to grab lunch?' A woman that isn't intimidated to make the first move, this made Stefan's interest in her grow even deeper. 'No, my schedule is clear.' He felt himself growing excited. 'Is one ok?' He glanced at his phone for the time 'One sounds great!' She told him where to meet her. 'Bye' they said in unison, he could hear her giggle over the phone. 'See you later,' she hung up. 'YESSSSSS!!!!' Stefan couldn't believe it, he got a date finally. A date that he was willing to go on, not one set up by one of his buddies.
'Dang, I still don't even know her name,' He questioned himself over and over, 'How do I forget to ask someone their name?' Oh well, Stefan glanced at the time, it was twelve-thirty.' Good thing the restaurant was only ten minutes away, 'I better get ready.' Stefan made his way to the shower, he still couldn't believe how excited he was for this date.

'So, Stefan, what do you do?' She was so beautiful, she was pretty last night. But now that he was able to see her during the day, he was glad he texted her. She decided on a beautiful yellow sun dress, which made her skin glow. She was curvy and it fit her so perfectly. Her curls were out again, and lightly blowing in the breeze, how can someone look like a goddess? 'I'm an artist, I make music,' He said while still gazing at her. 'Oh, ok can I hear something?' She looked interested. 'Maybe after lunch,' she had decided on a soul food vegan restaurant and it was the best food he'd ever had. 'Alright, can't wait!' She exclaimed. 'What do you do?' he was ready to hear her say a model or an actress, 'I'm actually a law student, I currently work as a waitress.' 'Dang, that's really cool, is it hard?' he listened so cautiously. 'It's many hours of tears, and sometimes I go days without sleep. I work the graveyard shift, hurry home, nap, then back up at nine-thirty for classes.' There's no way this woman isn't superwoman.
Several minutes had passed and she was anxious to leave, he decided to take her back to his place. She paid for their meals, after so much back and forth, and him insisting to pay. 'No, I invited you to lunch, so I'll pay,' Stefan was surprised, no woman has offered to pay before. All the girls he's taken out usually all do the fake wallet grab, making it seem like they really want to pay. This girl was different, and Stefan was excited to get to know her better.

He unlocked the front door, and held it open for her, the way she walked in her dress made it look like she was floating. She was an angel, and Stefan thanked God he went to the club last night. 'Oh my goodness is this your bird? Zee flew right on her shoulder, 'She's so precious.' 'Yeah, her name is Zee, I love her so much.' Stefan led her to his bedroom, Zee was still resting on her shoulder. Stefan's guitars were lined up neatly against the wall. He took a seat on his chair, and offered her a seat on his bed.
'This is something I've been working on,' Stefan tuned his guitar. 'I'm honored,' she smiled at him, her smile was so white it was blinding.  Stefan sang for her, writing notes along the way. When he finished he joined her on the bed. Zee flew into the next room, this mystery woman and Stefan were stealing looks at each other, both fidgeting. It was clear to see they were both nervous. 'Deann,' she said. 'I'm sorry,' Stefan had a puzzling look on his face. 'My name,' she reminded him, 'it's Deann.' He smiled, took her hand, and kissed it lightly. Looking into her beautiful brown eyes. 'Nice to meet you Deann, I'm Stefan.'
