Diesel 10 rolled down the line as he passed the steam engines of Sodor. Some steamies recognized him, others didn't.
"Ugh! Where is a diesel engine when you need one? These engines are nothing but useless scrap. Right, Pinchy?" Diesel 10 said to his claw. It snapped itself closed and opened again.
Diesel kept rolling along the rails until he arrived at a station. He saw Toby and smirked deviously. "Hello, old teapot. Remember me?" Diesel 10 opened his claw and snapped it shut.
Toby was frightened and rang his bell. He puffed away from the station to get away from Diesel 10.
Diesel 10 cackled. "Oh, how I've missed this railway. But, I'm here to work." He saw two diesel twins and smiled. "Aha! Splodge, so nice to see you again."
Splatter and Dodge rolled their eyes. They weren't happy to see Diesel 10 again, especially if he was here to cause trouble.
"Go away, Diesel. We're not listening to you anymore." Splatter said, letting out a fog of diesel smoke.
"That's right. You got us in trouble last time you were here and left us." Dodge said. "So, we're being useful engines and not listening to your devious plans."
Diesel 10 growled. He couldn't believe Splatter and Dodge were taking the steamies' side. "But, those steamies think they're better than us diesels. They'll be in charge instead of us!" He said, firmly.
"No, Splatter and I are doing what's right. By doing what we're supposed to do." Said Dodge. "And right now, you're distracting us from doing our jobs. Come on, Splatter, we need to get to the docks and pick up fish."
Splatter and Dodge blew their horns and rolled away. Diesel 10 was cross. He wanted the diesels to be in control, not the engines.
"I'll show them. I'll show them all that diesels can be more useful than those pesky steamies. Right, Pinchy?" Asked Diesel. His claw snapped. Diesel 10 smirked. "Haha, that's right. Now, let's get to work. We have trouble to cause."
So, instead of doing his jobs, Diesel 10 went around the island looking to cause trouble for the engines. First, he went to the docks. He watched as Salty and Porter shunted the freight cars in line for Henry.
Diesel 10 slowly rolled up behind the cars. He snickered evilly, and gave the cars an extra hard shunt. The cars rolled down the line, right into the water. The cars were ruined.
"Oi! Who pushed the cars overboard?" Yelled Salty. He looked at Porter.
"I don't know. Someone must've forgotten to put the brakes on." Said Porter. He backed up and coupled to the cars. He blew his whistle and pulled the cars out of the water.
Diesel 10 smiled. His plan was working. "Now, Henry won't be able to pull the Flying Kipper." He quickly rolled away before someone could see him.
Next, Diesel went to the Quarry. Mavis was getting gravel to bring to the mountains. He smiled as he got to the cars. He coupled up to the cars, and gave them a mighty pull.
Mavis gasped as she was pulled under the hopper. Gravel came down and covered Mavis. Diesel 10 laughed as he rolled up next to her.
"Diesel 10! I should've known it was you." Mavis said, angrily.
"Oh, come on. It's not that bad." Diesel said, sarcastically.
"Yes, it is. I needed to bring these to the Blue Mountain Quarry. But, thanks to you, now I can't." Mavis said. "You can deliver these trucks for me, while I get a wash down."
Diesel 10 gasped as Mavis rolled away. Now, he had to do Mavis' job, and couldn't play any more tricks. He snapped his claw. "Bossy buffers."
Diesel 10 rolled down the line, pulling the freight cars of gravel. He grumbled as he passed by Gordon. "Why should I pull these silly trucks? I was doing nothing wrong."
An idea popped in Diesel's head. He smiled evilly as he reached the Quarry. Diesel 10 aggressively stopped, snapping the coupling of the trucks. They rolled into a siding, and crashed into a set of buffers. The trucks came off the rails and landed in front of the Narrow Gauge Engines.
Gravel was everywhere. The little engines were surprised, as Diesel 10 laughed. They were cross.
"Diesel, how could you? We needed that gravel for Ulfstead Castle's new tower." Said Skarloey.
Diesel 10 scoffed. "So? Who cares about a silly old tower? That old castle should have been gone a long time ago, like you steamies."
Skarloey and the other little engines gasped. They couldn't believe what they were hearing. All was quiet, until Luke, a little green engine, spoke up.
"Hey, don't say things like that. Us, steamies and diesels should be working together and not be fighting." Luke said, letting a wheesh of steam. "Besides, you don't scare us. We are brave little engines who can do big things."
Diesel 10 growled as he stared at Luke. His claw snapped at Luke, scaring the little engines. He snickered. "Brave? Ha, more like scaredy engines." He honked his horn and rolled away.
Back at the station, Thomas was talking to Henry about the trouble that had happened at the docks.
"When all of sudden, the trucks were bumped into the water. Now, I have to wait till nine to pull the Flying Kipper." Henry said.
"Did anyone see who bumped the trucks? Maybe it was an accident." Asked Thomas.
"No. No one was there when they came to get the trucks out of the water." Henry said. "It might have been another truck bumping into them."
"I see." Said Thomas. Suddenly, sparkles flew next to him as Mr. Conductor appeared. "Mr. Conductor, thank goodness you're here."
"I've heard the news about the trucks at the docks. Apparently, someone saw Diesel 10 come by and bumped them." Mr. Conductor said. He fumbled with his whistle around his neck.
"Oh, that devious diesel! I knew Diesel 10 would cause trouble." Thomas said, letting out a wheesh of steam. "Should I take you to the docks, sir?"
Mr. Conductor nodded. "Yes, please. I could use that fresh air to get some energy." He hopped into Thomas' cab and patted the side. "Okay, let's go. And don't worry, Henry, we're gonna get those trucks back on the rails as soon as possible."
Henry smiled. "Okay. Thank you, Mr. Conductor." He blew his whistle and went to do his other jobs before he could do the flying kipper.
