Description: A girl named Cassie Sutton-blonde hair, blue eye. She meets a Duke Barton, a vampire, during the rough times of her life. She falls herself into a struggle trying to help him. Trying to solve the problem, she finds that she had already...
Duke finds shelter in the Castle Hotel. He settles down on the couch. Lacing his fingers together, he smoothed back his sleek dark blonde hair and rested his head in his palm.
Cassie reaches Kesol College. She walks towards her locker, takes the important books, and enters the class. Even though the classes had just started two weeks ago, this whole college life seems to be boredom for her. She chitchats with her classmates, while her mind is still in search of answers. She kept an eye on check for any newcomer, in all her classes. She finds none. At lunchtime, she examines every nook and corner of the cafeteria for that new face. But the result was the same.
Duke was fed up with being in the room all day long watching television and reading books. In the evening he got out of his room and decided to have a walk. He learned the sky; it has taken on a greyish-orange hue. The park across the road was resonating with children's laughter. In between this laughter he heard a cry. A small boy about four was sitting on the sand and crying. A young man immediately came and stood near him.
"Hey, look at me." The man said kneeling on the floor.
The child looked at him with tears rolling down his cheeks.
"What is it? Why are you crying?" he asked wiping the tears off the child's cheeks with his thumbs.
"Dad, I can't reach it." pointing towards the monkey bars.
"I see. Why don't you try it once more?" he urged.
"Can we go home." The boy requested.
"Why? You don't wanna try again." arching his eyebrows.
"I fear that I'll fail."
"So you're choosing to run away from your fear." The man asked, with arched eyebrows.
"I think it's easier."
The man stood on his feet, giving a hand to the child.
"Come on get up."
The child stood on his feet and the man bends towards the boy keeping both the hands on the boy's shoulders.
"You'll never reach anywhere if you choose the shortcut. Come on face your fear, give it one more try. I promise you don't fail. And I also promise you a surprise, if you try it once more. "
The boy's face brightens with delight. He looks up and prepares to give it another shot.
"Come on. There you go." raising the child towards the monkey bars.
As the child grabbed the first bar, the man slowly started to take his hands off.
"Dad, don't take your hands off me. I'll fall." The kid said trying to look down.
"Don't look down. You won't fall, I've got you. Now, concentrate on the next bar ahead of you. Take a deep breath." The man instructed.
The boy told as instructed. His gaze moved to the next bar and he took a deep breath.
"Okay," he replied eagerly, waiting for the next move.
"Now, slowly release one of your hands, making sure the other one is strong enough to hold you. Then go for the next bar and just grab it."
The boy did as he was told.
