Twister

Did you love me?
When you looked at me!
What did you see?
Your Saviour or your child!

I yearn for warmth and soothing hands:
It was never to be.
Inside I was trembling
Outside I was a mask
I was an adult
but I was only a child
I crave stability
but insanity was my answer

Did you really look at me?
I also need a hug
Not a slashing tongue
Crumbling
my defenses like waves against the rocks

Everyday I was on a stage
You wrote my play
My part was never ending
Your spotlight was suffocating me

Your companions were demons.
Slowly killing your destiny.
Their evil is spreading
Twisting you into a thousand pieces
