[Mystic Falls Park]
It is the Mystic Falls Historical Society Volunteer Day. And everyone had gathered to the park to volunteer.
"This all part of the historical society, continuing efforts to give back to the community. Thanks to the generous donation of the Fell family. We are now standing on the sight of our newest public park. Thank you to everyone who has shown up today to land a helping hand. Thanks." Carol's voice rings out to the volunteers.Mason is removing boxes from his trunk. Stefan motions to him and Alura both walk over. "Alura, good to see you again. Stefan, right? The other Salvatore." Mason greets the two. Stefan had heard of Damon's attempted murder from Alura, and together they had decided to try to talk the wolf out of war. Stefan felt that they had enough to deal with and his brother picking a fight wasn't helping.
"The nice one. The one offering an apology." Stefan says as Alura rolls her eyes. Truthfully Alura was more comfortable just offing the wolf, but decided to let Stefan's plan backfire first just to prove his de-escalation approach was bullshit.
"I'm not interested." Mason replies, beginning to turn away.
"Look, my brother acted impulsively." Stefan says trying to make peace.
"You think?" Mason scoffs.
"I tried to stop him; you can't help stupid." Alura mutters, though both heard her.
Stefan ignores Alura's comment, though he couldn't help but to agree. "If you and Damon keep at each other throats, somebody innocent is going to get hurt and I don't want that. You have family here so I can imagine you don't want that either. So, what do you say we just quit the whole alpha male fighting thing and call a truce?"
Mason turns to Stefan, "I made that same offer to your brother. He turned it down with a knife." Mason explains.
"He made a mistake. I'm here to make sure neither of you make another one." Stefan declares.
"Tell your brother to watch his back." Mason warns. Stefan grabs Mason's arm
"Well, I'm guessing that you can only worry about that during a full moon. Otherwise you're not as strong, am I right? Or you would have killed Damon by now. There's one of you. There are three of us. I think you're the only one that needs to watch his back." Stefan threatens him.
"If he comes at me..." Mason starts.
"He won't." Stefan interrupts him. They shake their hands and Mason leaves.
"Let's just talk to him Alura, there's no need to kill or threaten" Alura mocks Stefan as the watch the wolf walk away.
"Don't start." Steven replies through clenched teeth.
Damon makes his way to them. "What are you doing?" Damon asks narrowing his eyes at his brother. He could tell by the look on his best friend's face that it didn't go well.
"Negotiating peace on your behalf." Ali states, trying not to laugh.
"I don't want peace." Damon complains.
"Consider it Opposite Day." Stefan rebuttals.
"Stefan, please tell me you don't seriously think a hand shake just solved our problem." Damon states.
"No actually I think that the first chance Mason Lockwood gets, he's gonna drive a stake through your heart and then through mine and Alura's because you took it upon yourself to try to kill him. So, thank you, because we don't have enough problems." Stefan sasses and walks away.
Damon and Ali look at each other "Why do I get the feeling that things just got worse?" She asks.
"Because you're smart and realize that werewolves cannot be trusted." Damon replies.
