ZOE'S POV
"Zoe hurry up we're getting late!" My mom yells so loud from the kitchen. I'm sure a person passing two blocks from our house heard her. "I'm coming just now mom." I respond to her from my room. I'm still standing in front of the mirror undecided of what to wear between my long skirt and my red favorite dress.
I hear footsteps coming from the hallway, approaching my room. Oh gosh! I know she's coming to get me now. "I'm coming in." She says already steeping inside of my room without knocking. "You're wearing that dress again?" She asks in a sarcastic way. "Yes mom, it's my favorite." I simply respond to her knowing very well she wasn't looking for an answer.
I love my mom so much, she's the strongest woman I know and I admire her. She had to work so hard for us to have a better life after my dad left us for another family of his own. He left us just like that; he didn't even care about our wellbeing or my education. So when he left, my mom had to figure out how to pay for my school fees on her own since I was attending at one of the most expensive school in the city.
She is a teacher at a primary school here in town, a school which doesn't pay that much though, so she had no choice other than working extra hours at a nearby restaurant as a waitress.
We carry on debating about me wearing the red dress several times to church until she did nothing either than let me wear it. Before we know it we're already at church. I'm proud to say that this woman taught me very well how to behave as a young girl.
ZOE'S POV
MONDAY
I wake up to catch the 6am bus, which takes only about forty minutes to get to Nelspruit Private College. The weather is as hard as it is winter; we're still in the beginning of July. I can feel the cold air being hard against my skin. First thing I do as I enter into my classroom, the Gr 11A top classroom. I quickly take a sit at my front desk then take out my Physical Science textbook to study since I'm early by twenty minutes before class begins.
•5 minutes later
"Zoe I got some hot news for you." I know that noisy voice. Who can it be other than Samantha Smith, my best friend, unlike her with the bubbly personality; I'm so quite while she's the noisy one which confused a lot of people about our friendship. Well she might be 'too forward' but I know the deep kind side of her, which nobody else knows it.
"Oh Sammy for once will you join me and study. Do something better than gossip." I tease her. "So this past weekend I attended thee house party drown by the hottest guy in Gr 12." I look at her smiling. "It was so lit." She adds. "Since you're so eager for gossip, tell me more about this hot guy that made you to lose focus."
"I'm not just talking about any hot guy; I'm talking about Mike Brown babes." She says that while making that naughty look of hers and licking her lips to justify that he's hot. "I'm so sorry to ruin your mood but I don't think I know him." I admit honestly. "Are you sure you're living on earth?" She laughs at her stupid rhetorical question. The teacher arrives and begins the lesson.
My daily routine is repeated throughout the week, from Monday to Friday. I catching up the 6am bus to school and returning home to study.
