Cherry Blossom Trees

"Yams, wanna see the cherry blossoms next week?"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Tadashi, Are you awake? Hurry up doing what you're doing so you don't be late to school."

Yamaguchi quickly gets out of bed and rushes to put on his school uniform. He grabs his backpack and goes out of his room to greet his mother.

"You look tired, what time did you go to sleep last night?" Yamaguchi's mother said, as she makes him breakfast.

"3:27 am. I couldn't sleep last night."

"Are you going to be able to go to school without falling asleep in your classes?"

"Yea, I'll be fine. Oh and I'm gonna walk to school today so you don't need to take me, I need to get out anyways."

Yamaguchi promptly ate his breakfast and ran out the door.

I wonder, who was that in my dream? Have I met them before or something?

Yamaguchi kept his head down as he walked to school. The only time he lifted his head was when he was making sure there weren't any cars while crossing the streets.

Hmm... Maybe I've met the person in my dream in my last life... What if it was- huh?

"Oh my, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you."

"Huh?" A tall blonde man appeared in front of Yamaguchi. "Oh no, it's okay but may I ask, do you know where I go to the high school that's around here?"

"Karasuno High?"

"Yes."

"You'll go straight ahead and on the fourth street, you'll turn left and continue going straight until you see the entrance of the school." Yamaguchi started getting quieter every time he talked.

"Thank you."

"You're... welcome."

The man started walking away from Yamaguchi. He thought to himself for a minute.

Why was his voice so familiar? He goes to Karasuno? I've never seen him before.

Yamaguchi decided to take a different route to school so it didn't look like he was following the blonde man.

A couple minutes later, Yamaguchi glanced at his phone.

[8:18 AM MONDAY, MARCH 6, 2028]

"Crap, I'm going to be late if I don't hurry." Yamaguchi starts jogging to school, having just enough time to get himself settled in his homeroom.

RIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

"Okay, please take your seats so we can start homeroom."

The morning is always the longest time of the day.

"We have a new student joining us today. Please come into the classroom young man."

The blonde man from earlier had walked into the classroom.

"Hi, my name is Kei Tsukishima, it's a pleasure to meet you all..."

Tsukishima quickly looks down at his hand then back up. "...I hope we can become great friends."

"Alright. Yamaguchi. Will you please raise your hand?"

Yamaguchi slowly raised his hand, his heart beating out of his chest and his hand shaking.

"Tsukishima, you can sit next to Yamaguchi."
