CHAPTER: IV

She always thought that her son was hardworking. Despite his quirk, she still loved him and supported him to reach his goal. That is, to be a hero. As days pass by, he became mature. Too mature for his own age. She thought it was because he was smart. Fortunately, she didn't know the truth.

He would come home late, sweating and covered with sand and oil from who knows where. She always scolded him for not coming home before night fell. His response was that "I was training.", that Inko can understand. Since he was four, he started running daily and when he grew older, he did some more intense stuff. She was worried that it might affect his growth when he ensured that he knows what he was doing. Life was alright then.

Yujiro wasn't the type of person who gives his thanks to people, but he can let this one slide. It was an important day for the Midoriya family, the birthday of Inko Midoriya. Tomorrow was the start of the UA entrance exam so a good celebration before decimating whatever prepared for him was recommended.

They were walking down the side of the street, heading towards the Musutafu Mall for their incoming celebration. Yujiro wasn't the type of person who gets all jolly from a birthday, but this does implant a smile on his face when he saw how happy his mother was. He vowed to protect that smile, and whoever was trying to destroy it will suffer immensely.

Due to being a budget master (genetics be damned), Izuku made a lot of money from allowance alone. He figured that it was enough for the day. They first went to a clothing store, she tried a few casual dresses a woman her age would wear. She took a few poses and being the old mind Izuku had, you can see a tiny amount of pink in his freckles. In other words, she looked good. She insisted that she pay her own dresses so he let her.

The next stop was at a restaurant. The food there was recommended by people near Musutafu and there was katsudon so they went there instead. 'Best Food. Huh, is it really the best food?' After going inside, finding a sit, they both ordered. Izuku was getting a katsudon while his mother was getting a lasagna. They both shared funny stories, jokes, and other stuff that will keep them from being quiet.

After finishing their meals, he paid for the meals and thank the Lord All Mighty that he didn't pay for the clothes as well. His eyes widen comically and it made his mother laugh. It was worth it, even if it burned all your money.

Every happy moment, there a tragedy followed.

The mall started shaking furiously. Debris falling off everywhere and everyone started covering their heads, screaming in panic. His mother tensed up as well, she began trembling while holding Izuku by the arm. Her maternal instinct overlapping with the flight or fight response. She began tugging, harder than before at his arm. "I-Izuku, l-let's go." Her voice quavered. "Let's go to a safe area first, then I have to leave to see if there are any people stuck." He replied in a calming manner. His words left no room to argument and they hastily went to a place they deemed safe.

Izuku hated leaving his mother behind, but within this disaster, intentional or not he had to see if people were safe. He started shouting, checking if someone can hear his voice. 'There!' He heard a whimper from his right. He rushed towards it and saw a kid, no less than three, standing deserted. He then saw blood under the big debris lying around and cursed under his breath. He quickly calmed down the kid, and he wasn't doing a good job. "Kid, do you know heroes?" the boy nodded. "Think of that, but I'm learning." His expression lightened up. 'Just one more push... What's a good hero name? I got it!' "My hero name is Ogre, cool right? Now we have to leave right now, so I can be a hero to others too." The boy instantly nodded and climbed up his arms. He was now carrying a boy in his arms and he rushed back to his mother.
