The Gravestone

The Grave

     The gravestones stood silently, row upon row, like soldiers long forgotten. Suddenly, a scream shattered the silence. "What was that?" I asked, while looking around to see if I could spot where the scream came from. Ai looked up from where she sat. I asked, "Ai, did you here that?" She shook her head in a negative fashion. Then, she said, "No, I just saw you jump, and the gravestones shake. "Was I supposed to hear that?" She said this in a worried tone. I responded, "I don't know, but that scared the life out of me." I sighed and looked at the grave. Ai got up from where she was sitting and walked over to me; then, she wrapped her arms around my stomach. "Well next time I'll try and listen, so you won't have to be the only one who looks crazy." She says with a smile on her face. I sigh again and rest my head on her shoulder. "I wish you would have been listening the first time." She turns me so that I can look at her face to face. "What did you hear exactly?" Ai asks with a serious look on her face.

       "I heard a scream from in front of my dad's grave, where the old house is." I point to a rotated house with the front door missing and windows smashed in. Ai looks to where I'm pointing. "All I can see is the fence I don't see the old house. Do we need to go see an eye doctor?" Ai says while putting her head on my shoulder. "There's an old house in front of the fence and I saw it when we walked in and it freaked me out that's why I was clinging to you when we walked in, and it's also why I wanted to come on this side to see my dad." I said laying my head on top of hers. "Oh, so it wasn't because I'm so strong." Ai says while lifting her head, and I lifted my head, so I can look her in the eyes. I sigh but that sigh turns into to a gasp of surprise. Ai had picked me up and put me on one of her shoulders. "U-uh?!" I say looking at the back of her head while my face is blood red. "We'll come back another day, I'm taking you to get something to eat, that might help you see things right."

       "A-Ai..." I'm more flustered to speak and I'm not hungry. She karris me all the way to the Maid Café. She puts me down in front of the front doors. "Why are we going to eat at my work?" I look toward Ai and she smiles. "Well because I've never seen what your uniform looks like and you won't show me so." She says while looking from me to the doors. "That's because it's embarrassing to be seen in public in it or near friends or family." I said in reply. She grads my hand and leads me inside, where I see Yuzu waiting to great us. "Welcome to the maid- HASHIOKO!" She say's while running to hug me. "H-hey Yuzu, your squeezing me..." "Sorry but I thought I would never be able to see you again..." Yuzu says while letting go of me. I sigh, and Ai puts an arm around my shoulders with a smile. "So, I see what your wearing now." Ai looks at me grinning. I feel my face lighting up with embarrassment. Yuzu looks at Ai and me in confusion. "who's she?" Yuzu points to Ai. "Me? Oh, I'm Hashioki's roommate and I guess Hashioki's girlfriend." Ai says placing her chin on my shoulder.

        Yuzu looks at me to see if I'm protesting what she just said. I'm just blushing and looking at one of the sets. "Ok well follow me this way and I'll show you too to your sits." Yuzu said without hesitation. "Yuzu? Can we sit at my table? And where's Mei you two are inseparable?" I ask Yuzu with curiosity taking over me. Yuzu sighed and said," Mei had to deal with a customer that was being annoying and told me to go ahead and sit the next customers and as for the other question if you want but there's no one assigned to your table when you're not here so do you want me and Mei to come serve you to?" "That would be the best thank you." I smile and look at Ai who is incredibly silent. "Ai are you ok, you're not normally silent..." I say, and Yuzu looks over her shoulder and smiles. "I'm fine it's just that I didn't see you as one of these girly-types who would wear glittery dresses and a per of cat ears and tails, and I really didn't see you as one of the girls who wear dresses at all. You said it yourself that you don't like to wear dresses you preferred guys suits more than anything." Ai said while squeezing my hand as taint as she could. "Well I don't wear the dresses I wear the Host clubs uniform the one beside the Café, they had estrous and gave me one, the boss didn't care so it's my uniform." I replied with a grin.
