"Midnightt!" Dusky called her sister, who was trailing far behind her.
"Dusty?" Midnight stomped through the dead forest of Winterlake. It seemed as the older Storm Phoenix had purposely been stepping on all the sticks in the Verow Feather's territory.
"Are you purposely stepping on all those sticks? How are we gonna hunt if the prey hears us?"
Midnight noticed her mistakes. "Whoops, sorry!" She said to her younger sister who rolled her eyes at the grey Phoenix.
"Whatever. Be a little more careful. Just because we are powerful doesn't mean you can stomp on all the little sticks."
"Dusky, please. Your being a little too serious. Only mice and small birds run to the tiniest sound of a stick. Bulls and all those creatures don't care."
"You never know, our Feather is beginning to starve, we need to get as much food as possible.
Oh, Dusky. Midnight knew that her Feather was starting to get very hungry, but Midnight wished she could care. Midnight would be taking her Phoenix Test very soon, and its been stressing her so much. It seems as Midnight has been having a rougher time then usual, and Midnight knows it.
"I see something." Dusky whispered.
Midnight sniffed the air, and indeed, she could smell a fat juicy cow.
"Oh yea.. Do you have a plan?" Midnight asked her sister.
"Yeah. We won't be able to go up there, our colors don't blend into the sky and during this type of weather the cow's bound to notice. The cow has his butt turned right to us. We could both attack from there."
"Sounds good to me." Midnight responded.
"Alright, follow me!" She began to guide her older sister to the cow. Soon they were both ready.
Dusky launched first, and once Midnight noticed she helped. They were doing good, until the cow used his power back legs and kicked Dusky off hard. Midnight gasped, letting the cow escape.
"MIDNIGHT!" Dusky screeched.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I am okay! I can survive a stupid cow's kick. You should have gone after it."
"Sorry.. I was just worried about you."
"What? Do you think Im too weak to survive a kick?"
"Your my sister, and I love you. I just wanted to check you were okay."
"You should have gone after it, our Feather is starving, do you not care?"
"Of course I care! Its just that.. I can't afford to lose you."
"Im not going to die by that, you dumbass."
Midnight froze when her sister swore. "Im sorry, okay?"
"Whatever, Im off now." Dusky said and began to spread her wings and fly away. Midnight would watch her sister sadly as she flew.
I screwed up again.
