Campus Love Affair

chapter eight

I wish I could say that as the days went by life got better. School work just got more daunting for me. Cassie had taken to following me around everywhere. I was lucky to take a shower by myself.   Ryan had taken to stalking me on all social media sites I had. I guess that insta post had gotten to him. Speaking of which I couldn't shake the feeling everyone was watching me. I thought the frenzy would have died down by now.

" Hey fries wanna come over after classes. Me and my friends are making nachos and guacamole. Wanna join."

Nick. Now he had become my new normal. We hang out alot. Mostly surrounded by food. Or movies or novels. He had become my happy place. And I was not about to refuse a perfectly good offer. Plus it was a few hours away from Cassie and at this point I was taking anything I could get.

"Sure why not I'm done for the day anyway. Where you headed."

"I was looking for you. Why aren't you picking up your phone or answering your phone. I thought you'd fallen off the face of the Earth."

"That's kinda the idea. Seeing as I can't have a moment of peace with my phone on thought id just shut it off."

"Is it that bad. I'm sure you can handle it."

I wish I could lie and say that I can but it's getting kinda awkward."

" You want me to take care of it. I won't tell a soul and no one has to know. I can get rid of the problem in no time."

" What do you mean get rid of the problem! You could get into a lot of trouble."

"I mean sure I could lose some friends but that's not a big deal. Why are you getting so worked up."

"Why are you not more worried if anything happens to Ryan you'd get into alot of trouble....what are you talking about."

" Was talking about the rumors going around school that we are dating....wait what that asshole's still disturbing you. Why am I only now hearing about this."

" I didn't want to disturb you with all my shit. You have a life to.but hold on there's  rumors that we're dating."

I couldn't see it. I broke into guffaws.i could hardly breathe.

"Wow that's rich. The quiet freshman and the halfway decent popular kid. Why are you so popular anyway."

" It not that funny to be honest. And have you seen this face of course I'll be popular."

"Wow if you're ego grows any bigger it will crush your bony chest."

It was a really good chest bit like I just said....

"Hey I'll have you know I work quite often so my chest is. Anything but bony. Have you seen this pecs. But I'm also really smart. Like super smart. It also halps that people see me and just assume I'm a jock so..."

" Ok I know you're smart but super smart. Don't push it. Besides the rumor is bound to s
Die down. It campus there's a new story everyday."

" Ok if you say so. So let's go. I have to buy the avocados and shit."

I didn't want to admit but the thought of us being a couple was just replaying in my mind. But if we were to live in the same house I had to let it go. It was obvious very fast that nock was a pro in the kitchen. The cooking anyway. Cleaning up after himself not so much.

Now I don't want to say I'm obsessed with being cleaned but damn the mess was making my eye twitch. And not in a good way. I started cleaning up
Of course the boys were no where to be seen at this time.

" So I thought about your offer and I'll take it. That's if it's ok with your roommates."

" Yeah sure. Here they are now.lazy asses leaving me to do everything. You've met Micah. This is Pete he's dad owns the house. We've been friends for so long. Guys this is Kira. She's the friend I was talking to you about."

"Hey sexy...I mean Kira don't want Nicholas killing me in my sleep. If you ever get bored hanging out with him hit me up."

"Hello I'm Peter but my friends call me Pete. It's nice to meet you."

"Hi I'm Kira...you already Know that Nick just said my name," what was happening I could string together a sentence for this dude."ok so I'm Kira nice to meet you thank you. You're welcome."

"Ok well Nick see you later. And if you decide to move in with us Kira. I hope you know you're more than welcome to move in with us. "

" Aren't you gonna eat with us. You promised to be here."

Stupid fool. Couldn't he see how much he was affecting me. Looking at him I knew he was doing this on purpose. I swear.i minute he is an angel the next he's the Nick I met first.

" I know I'm just going to pick up Clarissa. You know how it is. I'll be back in like an hour tops. Don't start without me."

"Ooh come on man! I've been waiting for this all day. I'll try but I'm not making any promises."

Pete left and I could finally take a deep breath I had never been happier for my dark tan.

" Ok stop making the googoo eyes. Come on let's go up to my room and watch a movie while we wait."

"So who's Clarissa." I tried to ask casually.

"Mmmm wouldn't you like to know."

" No I'm just asking so I Know how to act when they get here. You know she might be his sister his cousin his mother his step mom. So I'm just preparing."

"Notice how you didn't say his girlfriend. Any way it his younger sister. She's a freshman so he looks out for her."

Ok I'm big enough to admit that I felt a teeny tiny bit of relief at that bit of news.

"Ok so what do you wanna watch while we wait."

"I'm not sitting through another episode of big bang theory. Been there done that. How about we watch sleepy hollow."

Ok sounds harmless enough is it fun."

"You have no idea."

I could see the smirk but I was choosing to ignore it. I mean how bad could it possibly be.
