~Chapter 8~
"Albus Severus-"
"-You lying, slimy, sneaky, snake in the grass-"
"-Potter!"
"Explain yourself this instant!" Both girls glare down at the green eyed boy sitting on the large rock. After a long moment of surprised silence when the two had revealed themselves; it was pretty obvious what was going here. Albus tried his hardest not to laugh at the way they took turns scolding him; interrupting each other's sentences to add emphasis on just how fowl of a man he really was for his trickery. He knew laughing at their coordination would only result in him getting scolded further, possibly a bruise from his always so aggressive best gal pal, but it was like the two girls had planned it out; that's how in-sync the were with their lecture.
"Okay, I'll explain everything as long as you promise not to hit me." He reasoned sending them a skeptical look.
"I would never hit you Albus." Ivy sounded a little offended and hurt at the accusation.
"No promises." Emelie snorted back crossing her arms over her chest. The Potter boy only sigh knowing that was the best he would get from her and went on to explain, first to Emelie about how this whole thing came about and then to Ivy about why Emelie showed up here unannounced.
"Let me get this straight. You two just happened to both come to this very area by yourselves when you felt depressed, ran into each other unintentionally, and then just decided to make a thing out of it?" Emelie narrow her eyes in between the two with disbelief. Ivy's whole face went scarlet as she cast her eyes downward to the ground while Albus bit his lip to hide the small smile on his face. It was clear to the dark haired girl that they just too perfect for each other.
She sighed with a shrug, slumping down onto the rock next to Albus.
"Well now what? Are you guys like...you know? She asked eyeing them pretending not to notice the way they're hands sort of drifted toward one another until they were intertwined.
"Well...umm...no. You see I-I...well I'm still..." Ivy tried feeling embarrassed knowing how much of a slag she must sound to the other girl right about now. Emelie didn't make her finish the sentence sensing it was a bit of an awkward topic for them. Obviously they both came to this place as an escape, leaving everything behind in the castle; including their own relationships. It was childish, it Emelie's mind, and they should probably deal with the issue instead of sneaking off to some hidden place but she didn't have the heart to tell them that.
Emelie considered herself harsh, but not that harsh.
"Who else knows about this? Besides you two I mean; and myself now I guess."
"No one. It was supposed to be kept a secret because we didn't want rumors starting up again." Albus explained with a strained face. It was obvious this settlement wasn't his idea.
"We're just friends, Em, really." Ivy whispered unsure of who she was trying to convince.
"I believe you Gryffindor, for now at least; but it's obvious that won't last very long and as diabolical as it is to go round and cheating on your partners, you know I'm always in for anything diabolical Albus, but I think you should do something soon because stuff like that" she says motioning toward their linked hands, "Is bound to raise questions sooner or later. Honestly I'm questioning it myself actually."
Albus and Ivy send one another a glance before looking away shyly; Ivy attempting to wriggle her hand from his grip but failed due to his tightening around it.
"We know Em, and we'll cross whatever bridge that is when we get there but right now we like having this and we really don't want people knowing of it."
