The bright white, full moon iluminated Lake Wyatt. Brian and Alyssa were walking down the wooden dock holding hands. As they reached the end of the dock, Brian helped Alyssa as she sat and let her legs hang above the cold lake. So far, the summer wasn't treating Alyssa so bad. After all, this has probably been the best decision she had made in quite a while. The only reason she did it was to gain extra money, but now she got more out of it than what she wished for. She met an amazing guy whom she never dreamt of meeting. She had to admit that she also did his camp program to forget about James. She never thought he would betray her the way he did with her so called best friend. The thought of what they did to her was too painful to even think about it.

Every time the thought crossed her head it felt like a stab through her heart. She had to get away from home so she wouldn't think about her past relationship with James, that's what pushed her to accept the Counselor job for Dreamers Camp. She needed the time to her self so she could forget about everything and start fresh in college. Then Brian came along saving her from another heart break with Jack, another counselor. Jack helped guide her through the whole week of training and she fell for his little act. He was too good to be true, he kept leading her on as if he wanted to be more than friends. He would hug her around the waist and hold her close to his body and whisper in her ear. This drove her crazy and she started liking it more than she should have. Then another stab through her heart, she found out he had a girlfriend.

At that point she was about to give up on the whole falling in love thing. She learned that when you fall in love, its really hard to get back up, so she wasn't going to take the risk anymore. The day she found Jack with his girlfriend, she ran out of his cabin and went straight to the dock. She collapsed to her knees and sobbed into the wide open lake.

Tonight reminded Alyssa of that night, the only difference was that Brian was sitting next to her instead of holding onto her so she wouldn't jump into the cold water like she was planning on doing that night. "Why are you so quiet Alyssa?" Brian suddenly interrupted her train of thoughts.

"Its nothing really, just thinking. "

"When a girl says its nothing its usually something. " He said, as a smile crossed his face. Just then she started playing with her thumbs. She was never the type of girl that would look into people's eyes. Brian grabbed her hand and started rubbing the back of it with his thumb. It helped calm her. "Now, will you tell me what you were thinking about?" He asked with a perfect soothing voice. How could she resist that? She could never say no to Brian...actually to any guy. Probably that's why she never lasted with any of them and she would always end up getting hurt. She looked up and saw that his smile had turned into a frown. He looked intensely at her but in a curious way. " Okay...I was just thinking about how we met." She paused for a second to see his facial expression but it showed no signs of anything, it was just blank. All he was doing was listening to her. "You know Brian...I never thanked you for saving me that night. If you wouldn't have-" Brian cut her off. "Stop that Alyssa, you dont have to thank me. I know you would've done the same thing if you had seen me about to throw myself into the lake."

Once he put it that way I thought about it for a second, I realized that I would have done the same thing. "But still Brian, you saved me from drowning. You're the reason why I'm still here right now...alive...and with you." She looked up at him but he was just staring straight ahead at the lake. His expression was thoughtful. She continued before he had the chance to interupt her. "I came here...Hurt...and got hurt once again. That day you saved me, I realized that life is unfair...but when you least expect it, it might just turn upside down and reward you with something...or someone amazing." She leaned closer to Brian and rested her head on his shoulder. "Brian...Thank you for coming into my life, you taught me the actual, true, and amazing meaning of love. Even if it's been a short period of time, I grew to learn that not every guy out there is going to hurt you." Brian turned his head and kissed Alyssa on her forehead and went back to staring at the lake. "I wish we could just stay here...forever..." She popped her phone out and took a picture of them. She viewed the picture on her phone and she loved it. "Atleast now i have a memory of you." Brian tilted his head towards her.

"What...You dont think we're going to be together for long?" He asked curiously.

"I've learned that someday everything ends, sometimes it last's long, but sometimes it doesnt. Im prepared though. Incase I ever do loose you, I'll know that you were real. I'll have these memories to hold on to. " She looked at the picture again. Brian wasn't looking directly at the camara. He was gazing off into the lake but alyssa was. She looked at the camara as her head was resting in Brian's shoulder. It was indeed a beautiful picture. It captured their relationship perfectly. Brian suddenly stood up and started pacing back and forth behind Alyssa. She begun to stand up but Brian held her down. "No, just sit. Close your eyes, just relax and breath in and out slowly. Alyssa you're right, I did save you. I didn't save you from drowning though. I saved you from yourself. I know that you would've just jumped back out of that lake."

" That's not true!"

"Please, let me talk. I saved you from yourself. You were about to give up on the most important reason a human being lives for....love, but now I can see that I stopped you from giving up. I taught you to be patient and that love...true loves really does exist." He grabbed Alyssa by the waist and helped her up. He took her face in his hands and kissed her. Alyssa was starting to feel the butterflies in her stomach react to his kiss and touch. He slowly pulled away from her." Alyssa, promise me that no matter what you'll always have your heart open for love." He looked down at her eyes. Surprisingly, so did she. She nodded her head promising him. "Don't ever give up on love, Love is beautiful and magical. When you experience it for the first time you'll know it's real."

"I think I already know what it's like Brian. This right here is perfect for me." said Alyssa.

"Oh Alyssa, it get's better than this. Trust me. I want you to sit back down and stare at the moon. Love is more beautiful than this moon." Alyssa sat back down and stared at the moon. Brian was right, the moon was gorgeous but she didn't know how love could be better than that. She closed her eyes and tried to picture love being perfect. "Remember Alyssa, Never stop believing in love."

Brian suddenly dissapeared in thin air leaving behind white sparkly dust where his body just stood. His last words echoed in Alyssa's head. She opened her eyes and turned around. The dust lingered where Brian's body was at, it fell slowly until it started dissapearing. Alyssa was amazed, she didnt know who or what brian was but she wasnt hurt or afraid of his actions. Her heart told her that he was someone or something special and he had to be good. During her time she spent with Brian she felt safe. She quickly took out her phone and checked the picture she took of them. The picture was the same but the only thing that changed was that Brian wasn't in it anymore. For some reason she wasnt upset about him completely disappearing. She knew that he came to her life to teach her about love and she would be eternally grateful for that. One thing that will always remind her of him is the beautiful white full moon.
