"Sasha! I told you not to tell him!" I squealed as I sat at lunch with my two best friends. It was the last Friday of summer break, and we were excited to spend it together.
"Well, it was now or never," Sasha replied with a shrug, "He had to find out sooner or later!"
Cody was looking blankly at us when he spoke, "You guys are kidding right?"
"You look ridiculous, Cody." I pointed out laughing a little.
"Doesn't he always?" Sasha asked jokingly.
"So you were kidding, right? Alex? Sasha?" he questioned again. The same clueless expression on his stupid face.
Sasha and I burst out laughing, when there was a knock at the front door, "I'll get it!" We all said at the same time.
"It's fine," Cody said, "Alex, you go answer the door. Sasha and I will stay here." Cody has always been so kind. Especially around me and Sasha.
"Hello?" I asked as I answered the door.
"Hello. I have a letter here for Alex, Sasha, and Cody," the mailman responded, holding out the aforementioned letter.
"Oh! I'll take that. Thank you! Have a nice day sir!" I told him as I took the envelope.
"You too, miss," he responded with a nod.
I walked back into the dining room to find Cody and Sasha sword-fighting with spoons. They looked so in love. I hated to ruin their fun.
When I finally spoke up they jumped and acted as if nothing happened.
"There is a letter here for us," I said cheerfully.
Sasha looked excited, "Ooooh! Open it, open it!" she exclaimed, "Cody, back me up!"
Cody looked at Sasha but didn't seem to hear her ask. He looked at her so lovingly.
"CODY!!" I yelled as he snapped out of it, "Should I read the letter?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, go ahead," he responded.
"Alright, here goes," I said, unfolding the letter gently.
" 'Dear Cody, Sasha, and Alex,
You are invited to attend the Sorcery Academy for witches and wizards. You three, along with many other students with your talents, will learn how to defend yourselves while you are here. There are four houses, Foxpaw, Rabbitear, Hawktail, and Otterfoot. You three are lucky enough to be in Foxpaw, the valiant house. Your school supplies will be here once you arrive. By now you are most likely wondering how you are going to arrive here. Just go to your local train station and say these words, oogally, boogaly, doogally, drop, and you will be transported to our school grounds where you will be greeted by Fanella, our Groundskeeper, who will then lead you to your common room where you will meet Raylin, she will be arriving alone and looking for friends.
Signed, Professor Macintosh.'"
Once I finished reading the letter, Cody and Sasha were amazed. "I've always wanted to be like Harry Potter!" Sasha exclaimed excitedly, "And I'm really excited to meet Raylin!"
"Well let's pack some clothes just in case there are no uniforms." Cody added, "Also when are we leaving? The letter didn't say."
I turned over the envelope and shook it repeatedly until we all saw a smaller note fall out of and Sasha read it.
"P.S. you will report there at 5 o'clock tonight and dinner will be served once all the students arrive and unpack." She read out loud.
"We better get going then!" I exclaimed as we all rushed to get packed. If only we knew everything that awaited us at the Sorcery Academy.
