Chapter 13

Becca’s P.O.V

I lay down on my bed with my laptop and phone spread out around me, Beau said he would come over at about 5 leaving me to catch up on some homework.

‘You alright?’ Lily sauntered in, dropping her school bag by the door. ‘interesting outfit for being sick’ she raised an eyebrow at my clothes. I shrugged, getting on with my work.

‘I know fully well you weren’t sick today Becca’ she persisted.

‘Whatever, anyway Beau is coming round at 5 so fuck off yeah?’ I replied, I didn’t particularly want Lily in the way considering me and Beau had only just got together.

‘But Luke was supposed to come round here too!’ she whined.

Luke?

‘Why no Jai?’ I asked, confused.

‘He’s going the tennis courts or something’ she rushed her words and plugged her earphones in, showing she refused to talk any more about it.

‘Well why can’t you go to Luke’s?’ I carried on, determined to get the house to myself.

‘Why can’t you?’ she put on her cocky voice.

‘No! I get first dibs because I’ve been sick all day, I don’t see what the problem is with you going to Luke’s?’

‘I just can’t okay? Now ring Beau and tell him the new arrangements or I’ll do it myself’ she turned up the volume on her phone. She always gets her way, she can wrap anyone round her little finger.

I told Beau the new arrangements then walked round to his, leaving Lily in the weird mood she was in.

‘Alright babe?’ Beau embraced me in a hug, kissing my cheek.

‘HA! I knew it’ Luke walked past, smiling but shaking his head.

‘What?’ I chuckled.

‘That you two would get together’ he smirked.

‘Shut up Luke’ I rolled my eyes as he walked out the door laughing to himself.

‘So, what do you want to do?’ Beau smirked once Luke had left.

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, planting a sweet kiss on his lips. He deepened the kiss and unravelled my arms from his neck, interlocking his fingers into mine. Without breaking the kiss, he started to lead me out of the living room and into the corridor, towards his bedroom.

‘There’s no one home right?’ I whispered in between kisses.

‘Just Jai who’s in the garden’ Beau replied, his soft breath tickled my neck.

I opened my eyes and pulled away from him.

‘Lily said Jai was at the tennis courts?’ I said, even more confused than I was before.

‘No, Luke’s gone to the tennis courts, that’s where he was going just then’ Beau replied, joining in my confusion.

‘But Lily said Luke was going to hers?’ I stepped away from Beau and walked back into the living room. Why the hell would both of them lie to us?

‘Does it really matter?’ Beau stood next to me, clearly pissed off at our interruption.

‘I suppose not’ I sighed.

‘It doesn’t, they’re fine’ Beau kissed my forehead and gave my shoulders a little squeeze. I shook the confusion out of me and followed Beau back to his room.

‘remember the night of that party?’ I giggled as I lay down on his bed.

‘When I tried to kiss you but you wouldn’t let me?’ he raised an eyebrow as he straddled his legs over my body.

‘Yep, not much has changed eh?’ I laughed.

‘Please, you can’t keep your hands off me’

‘Oh really?’

‘yes’ he lay his chest against mine and went to kiss me but I pursed my lips together, playing along.

‘Like that is it?’ he winked, planting kisses down my neck. He reached the collar of my shirt, undoing the first button, and the second, carrying on until we were both left in our undies. From then on I couldn’t care less about what Luke and Lily were doing...

Lily’s P.O.V

‘Is Jai there?’ I asked nervously as I opened the door to Luke. As much as I wanted Luke to come round, it was so risky at the same time.

‘No, I’m not stupid Lily’ he wrapped me up in a friendly hug before closing the door behind him. I walked to the sofa and slumped down, followed eagerly by Luke.

‘We need to stop this’ I sighed.

‘What? You were the one who invited me here in the first place’ Luke replied.

‘It’s getting too complicated’ I couldn’t think of any more explanation and the horrible feeling in my stomach that I had been there for the past few days was taking over.

‘But we knew it would get complicated, what’s changed?’ he asked.

‘I just don’t want Jai getting suspicious, or Beau or Becca for that matter’

‘they won’t, I’m careful you know’ he smiled sincerely and placed a comforting hand on mine. I looked into his deep brown eyes, they hypnotised me in a way, like I believed everything he was saying. But so much of me wanted to just walk away from Luke and be faithful to Jai, for everything to be like it was before the night of the party. For everything to be okay before things get too messy.

‘I just think that we should maybe cool it a bit between us?’ I reluctantly said.

‘Of course’ he whispered softly, delicately kissing my cheek. So much of me wanted to kiss him fully but I knew I had to do the right thing.

We chatted like good friends for a bit then agreed that it was best that he got going, especially when Katy walked in from work.

‘So that’s Jai?’ she asked as she poured some pasta into a pan.

‘Erm no, that’s Luke, his twin’ I giggled as started to chop some carrots. Katy passed me another carrot to chop but I suddenly caught by breath making me feel very light headed.

‘Whoah are you okay?’ Katy held my shoulders and escorted me to my room, helping my lie down on my bed. The horrible feeling in my stomach was worse than before and not even a glass of water could help it.

‘Where’s Becca?’ Katy asked worriedly, clearly not knowing what to do.

‘She’s at Beau’s but I’m fine, honestly.’ I tried to persuade her I was okay, even though I had an idea of why I was feeling like this.

‘I think I have her number, I’ll give her a ring and get her to come home’ Katy ignored me and took out her fancy phone before holding it to ear, ready to talk to Becca.

Becca’s P.O.V

‘What was that about?’ Beau asked once I had finished speaking to Katy.

‘Lily or something, I don’t know, but I think it’s best if I get home’ I started to get dressed again.

‘She’s a pain in the arse’ he laughed.

‘Oi, that’s my best friend you’re talking about, the only reason you met me remember’ I chuckled, reaching my phone from the side of his bed.

‘Don’t deny she pisses you off too’ Beau raised an eyebrow.

‘Okay, well I’ll see you later’ I rolled my eyes, ignoring his question before giving a quick kiss and walking back to mine. I passed Katy finishing off the dinner then walked down to our room where Lily was lying on her bed, staring into space.

‘What’s up with you?’ I sniggered, flopping down on the edge of my bed so I could face her.

She carried on staring into space.

‘Lily! What’s up?’ I narrowed my eyes, raising my voice. ‘LILY!’

‘I, I think I’m pregnant’ she whispered in a hushed voice as a single tear rolled down her cheek.
