chapter 1

Clem's pov

                  After 14 years the world was still shit but at least the walkers only travelled in pack's now. Me and A.j were walking when I heard a twig snap. I turned to A.j and signaled him to hide he looked around and then scurried up a tree. I looked around with my gun out ready to shoot. Then I saw a dow and her baby's grazing. I put my gun down and smiled a little. "Git!" I said only loud enough to scare them away. I looked up at A.j and put a thumbs up for an ok. "MOM WATCH OUT!!!" He yelled pointing behind me. I barely had time to turn around to see a walker. It tackled me to the ground and sank it's teeth into the side of my neck. I took my gun out and shot it in the head. A.j came running over to me and helped me push the walker off. He looked at my neck and shook his head in disbelief. "A.....A.j

I...l love you. I love you so much." I said handing him my gun. "I love you to mom. I don't think I can do it though." He said taking the gun from me. "You have to A.j do NOT let me come back as one of them. A.j please...for me I don't want to hurt

you." I said hugging him. "Close your eyes and I'll count to 3." I said. Tears were streaming down his face. He put the gun to my head and closed his eyes I closed my eyes to.

"1....." "I love you so much mommy" he said with more tears.

"2" "I'm so sorry" he said.

"I love you A.j...so much.

                I heard the gun go off but I didn't feel anything. I opened my eyes but...I wasn't laying on the ground any more. I was standing over A.j and my now lifeless body. His head was in the crevice of my neck.

                "Oh sweet pea you were to young." I heard a familiar voice saw. I turned around real fast and saw Lee. I ran over to him and bear hugged him. "Lee I've missed you so much!" I sobbed hugging him even tighter. "I came to collect your soul Clementine." He said pulling away. "Will I ever see A.j again?" I asked looking at him. "When it's his time. Or you could stay here and be kinda be like his garden angel. As long as you don't kill anyone the gate's are always open when ever your ready." He said. I thought for a minute then I said "I'll see you when he's safe. I love you Lee tell everyone I said hi." I said hugging him one last time. He nodded his head and said "I'll be waiting for you sweet pea." Then he slowly faded away. I walked over to A.j and whispered in his ear "I'm still hear

A.j."

A.j's pov

             I had just lost the closest thing to a mother that I had ever known. I sat there for about an hour. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked behind me and saw nothing. "I'm still hear A.j." Whispered a voice that sounded identical to mom's. I looked around but there was no one there. I grabbed a shovel out of my bag and started digging. I was NOT about to just leave her there for the animals and walkers to eat.

               After I dug a big hole for her I picked her up and gently put her in. I was just about to burry her when someone whispered "take my hat A.j it'll keep your head warm." I reached down and grabbed her hat and put it on. I burried her the rest of the way and found a rock big enough to write on. I grabbed my knife and craved into the rock

"Here lies Clementine Evrit born 10/26/99 died 1/6/27"

                  Then I put it at the front of her grave and hammered it into the loose soil. I climbed a blossom tree and grabbed as many flowers as I could. Then I climbed back down and put them on her grave. "What am I suppose to do now?" I asked to no one impracticaluler. I felt something tug on my hood. I turned around and saw what looked like a gate. I walked towards it and climbed it. There was a tree house, a pool with a cover over it, and more important a house that was liveable in. I opened the glass door and walked in. The house was old and smelled like death. As I was looking around I saw a picture of mom and her parents as a little girl. I took the picture out of it's frame and put it in my bag. I looked around for some food that might be good but I had no luck. Finally I just gave up looking and went to mom's old room and grabbed some blankets and pillows. I went back outside and went into the tree house. There was dust and garbage everywhere. I cleaned it out a little bit. I set my bed up and then I went to sleep.
