Aryan's POV
"I can't believe that a person with at least half a brain would agree to marry this weirdo" Shanaya said.
All of us were at Rashmi's engagement venue where she was going to get engaged to her current boyfriend Shiv in 2 hours.
"Hey I married her" I said.
"Exactly my point" Shanaya said. And everyone started laughing Anaya who was sitting next to me held onto my arm to control her laughter.
"What are you laughing at you are married to me" I said forcing her to stop laughing and glare at me.
"Well I can't believe you guys actually met on a blind date whenever I used to go on a blind date all these weirdoes used to show up" Sweety said with a pout.
"Well it was Shanaya who set us up she could never go wrong she is the best cupid in town" Shiv said.
"Thank you, Thank you" Shanaya said.
"Shiv actually played cupid in our love story so this was our way of repaying him" Rohan said.
"Oh please.....by getting him married to this weirdo, you know back in school when we used to share a hostel room she used to keep a marble under her pillow because she was scared of ghosts"
"Oh my god that's what that is for?" Shiv asked.
"Oh I hated that thing it always used to hurt my neck somehow" I said.
"Ahhh" Rashmi said covering her face in embarrassment.
"How you convinced three guys to marry you is beyond me" Shanaya said.
"Oh no those fairy lights on the roof is not proper Aryan come help me fix it" Sweety said.
"Well I think its fine, and I am too lazy to get up, just let it be"
"Okay fine I will go fix it myself" Sweety said getting up.
"Wait I will come with you" Anaya said.
"Okay come back soon" I said.
"Ya just two minutes" Anaya said she brushed my hair before she walked away.
"It's not like I was married to three guys I mean technically I just have a broken marriage and that also wouldn't have happened if Aryan didn't forget that I ever existed" Rashmi said.
"I still can't believe you forgot your wife" Shiv said.
"Hey I had memory loss" I defended myself.
"I think it's kind of cool you know, I mean won't life be more easier if the memories of your past girlfriends didn't kept coming back to you" Rohan said earning a deadly glare from Shanaya.
"Which is exactly what happens when you are with your gorgeous wife"
He said taking Shanaya's hand and kissing it. She pulled her hand back and punched him on the arm with it.
"Awww" He said holding his arm.
"Aryan, tell me when the light is okay" Anaya asked from the roof as she sat down to fix it.
"It's fine now just come back down" I said after she made her adjustment.
"Okay"
She said getting up suddenly her leg slipped and she fell down from the roof in front of my eyes everything else was a blur I heard screaming, shouting, her name being called I sensed people rushing towards her as I stood frozen in place......I remember being inside an ambulance but I don't know what happened when I was in there I had blood all over me.....surprisingly it didn't bother me at all maybe it was because it was her blood or maybe because I was too shook up to even bother. I finally came back to my senses when after spending half an hour in the waiting room I saw the doctor who just walked outside the room she was in approaching us. I stood up with a jerk and rushed towards him.
"Is she okay" I asked desperately.
"I am sorry"
That was all he said and I fell down on my knees and started crying out loud as Rashmi held me while everyone else was trying to console me but nothing was working.
***
People say there is no wound that the time can't heal but it's a lie, people say we will eventually learn to live without some people when they leave us but it's a lie, people say pain comes with an expiry date but it's lie and the only truth is that once you love somebody no matter how hard you try you can never ever stop thinking about them for the rest of your life......
It has been 2 months since she left me in the darkness which I don't think I would ever find light to, life felt meaningless without her but I was forced to keep on living this meaningless life.
"Aryan....." Rashmi's voice brought me back to my senses as she walked inside my room with a smile but all I could give her in return was a fake half smile.
"I bought you coffee"
She said keeping the mug on the table and walked away. I have been living with her and Shiv since the unfortunate incident in the beginning she used to try and talk to me and make me feel better but now it feels like even she has lost hope of bringing me back to normal. Disheartened I got up and got ready for work. Again I left the house without having any breakfast and again her memories flashed in my head as I drove through the same streets we once used to travel through, but today somehow it was too overwhelming my eyes started tearing up and my sight got blurry and out of nowhere I remembered the last time what happened when I was in this situation, so I parked my car on the side went inside a park and sat on a bench, I started crying uncontrollably fully forgetting about my surroundings. Until I felt someone else sitting down on the other side of the bench soon I heard a girl sobbing.
"Looks like I am not the only person feeling miserable" I said to myself as I looked at her only to be taken aback by the face I saw sensing my stare at her she slowly moved her brown hair behind her ear and looked towards me the same really familiar set of brown eyes stared back at me, she blinked a few times and I just kept on staring at her eyes which were red and puffy now.
"Samira......" I said inside my head.
