Stamus Contra Malus

Latin for Stand against evil, this paladin worships hades and will go to help his new group take on the forces of troy and a great evil coming to end it all. Atlantis and troy are at war right now as troy has stolen a relic that was very important to Atlantis. Things get darker as a portal to the underworld has opened up under troy. This is part of a campaign called neo odyssey basically Ancient Greece in space.

But how did Stamus get to meet his group mates, well here it is:

At a young age Stamus was always meant to be a paladin and take the Oath of Devotion to his god, raised by a single mother and the only child of his family he was poor, but never grew to resent his dad who he had no idea was, he was told he died valiantly for a cause that he believed in, in which he saw great honor. At the age of 5 his mom wed a noble man and he knew poverty no longer. The noble man owned land 5 miles west of Atlantis and Stamus was properly educated to be able to combat evil effectively through training and learning the languages of the fiends and undead. when he reached the age of 16 a month before he would take his oath, disaster struck a group of bandits broke into the estate and brutally murdered his parents and stole everything they could carry. He was left alive, only enough food to last him a couple days, no horse, even then he had no where to go. He stayed at the estate hoping someone would come by and help him. 3 days go by and he starts to lose hope when he sees a shadowy figure, he is weak but he ready's his sword, as the figure gets closer he notices it's an Atlantean a special sect of Atlanteans at that, The worshippers of hades. It was almost as if the gods had sent him a hero, The worshipper had asked what happened at the estate. After Stamus explained what happened the mysterious paladin offered him a place to stay and a group to train with, people like him with the worshippers of hades, the paladin said he had feeling that stamus was important told to him by his god. Stamus accepted thanking the mysterious paladin. Meeting the group he felt like he was in the right place, and as all of them took their oaths, there was only one thing they all wanted, Stamus of all of them, was to take vengeance on those that had robbed him of his life, and the evil doers of the world, and he will stop at nothing until his cause is fulfilled. Many years of training and missions, one fateful day saw him and one of his best friends, going against a powerful group of sorcerers he didn't feel right about this mission he knew something was going to go wrong, well in a battle closing at the end they were fighting so well, until one of those sorcerers hypnotized his friend, forcing them to fight, he truly did not want to kill him attempting many things to break the spell, but it was fruitless, there was only one thing he could do, he killed his friend, and savagely killed the sorcerers afterwards. He carried his brother at arms back to Atlantis for a proper burial, along the way finding this blade, the hades Oathblade, from that day forth he covered his face completely, to hide his scars, and to hide his guilt. One more year passes and after a particularly good Mission, he was resting, When he got a vision, a vision from hades, he knew his purpose, and got to doing it.

What was this vision you may ask, well:

You sleep well that night until a darkness invaded your mind. You see a cave dug out of the ground in Troy. You don't know where but there is a hole... as you approach an arm comes out, an arm larger than anything you'd seen before with a purple haze around it! You hear a voice old, gravely and sinister from somewhere behind the arm. "I have return to the world! The gods shall fall and the rule of The Old Ones shall return!" The arm strikes the ground causing you to black out. The next thing you see is the famed necropolis, birth place of Thanatos. A voice echos out "find my child, find the ones who will stop doom. Find Kre—" the voice is cut off as you just glimpse four figures. A lion man called a Leonin, an extra large Minotaur, a snake person who looks to be a more snake like gorgon and a centaur. The gorgon has a greenish hue around her. You have a feeling this is the group you need help to prevent the monster from awakening and that gorgon is the child that needs help.

Character Appearance:

When looking at him from a distance all you can see is a medium sized person in full black armor, His face is covered up, as he seldom shows his face, and a chest piece with an engram of a forward facing skull, He will almost always carry a shield decorated with another skull engram, the paint is flaking off and on the metal outline of the shield is where Atlantean text resides barely readable from the battles it was used in, and a sword that is used only by the worshippers of hades. Under his armour, even if you see a little bit you may catch a glimpse of scars, his eyes are as black as the night, and his hair darker than Obsidian.
