I Could Have

MONTHS after that incident, nothing much happened. Loey and I celebrated Christmas and new year's eve in Japan. It was our first out of the country travel na kaming dalawa lang talaga ang magkasama. We went there on December 23 and went back to the Philippines on January 2. We have been planning to go to Japan ever since kaya tipid-tipid kami sa allowance namin para makakuha ng plane ticket and of course to pay for our Airbnb place where we would be staying for our ten days stay in Japan. Although, we have enough money Mama and Papa insisted to pay for our plane ticket and Tita Vanessa gave us pocket money too.

As for Kuya Ian, hindi siya tinanggap ng kompanya for some unknown reasons, he was asking them why he wasn't qualified but the company kept silent as if they did it on purpose. Pero hindi nawalan ng pag-asa si Kuya, he applied to other companies, and luckily he was accepted.

"Kuya, why don't you just accept Tita Em's proposal?" nagtatakang tanong ko.

We are here in the living room watching Hospital playlist on Netflix. Mama and Papa were out because they were supporting Tito Rilen for his campaign. Tumakbo si Tito sa posisyon bilang Governor at kung minamalas nga naman, Steff's dad also ran for that position meaning to say, magkalaban sila sa isang posisyon. Papa and Tito Rilen were best buddies since their high school years kaya naman sobrang suportado siya ni Papa.

"Don't you want me here, princess?" he dramatically blinked his eyelids and held his chest.

"Ouch,"

The side of my mouth rose up, my nose wrinkled. I looked at him with disgust, he really is bad at acting. "Kuya, huwag mo nang gawin ulit 'yon. You suck in acting," I complained.

"Grabe, double kill!" he pouted his lips and pulled me by my hand so that he can ruffle my hair.

"Kuya! Ang buhok ko na naman," I caught his hand and bit it playfully.

He shouted, "Ano ka, zombie?" his eyes watered.

My hands formed into a claw, "Rawr, rawr, rawr," we ended up laughing.

"Liz, are you okay?" Yumero asked Liza.

Nasa loob kami ngayon ng isang mall, we went out with our friends since we really miss each other.

"Y-yeah," Liza stuttered and continued talking to the cashier of this clothing line.

"Can you try the other one?" I heard her ask the woman.

"Sorry, ma'am." umiling ang cashier matapos nitong itry ang isang card ni Liza.

She paused for a minute before she opened her bag to find her wallet. Nilapitan ko ito, and I saw that she only has 1,500 pesos in her wallet.

"Magkano nga po lahat?" mahinang tanong nito.

"2,185 pesos, ma'am."

"Ahm... Can I return the other dress nalang? I'm sorry nakalimutan ko kasing mag withdraw." she almost said as a whisper.
