Green hair. Blue skin. Or rather pine green hair and cobalt blue skin. To be more precise. I was born with this coloration as I was a woodland spirit known as a nymph. Or rather, a wildling. Which meant quite a few things. I was friend to all kinds of animals. I could control planets. I could restore life. Give back to nature. That was my purpose. To maintain the balance of life and death in the spirit wilds.

That was the purpose of my whole race of spirits. That was me. My whole life. Well half of my life. The other half was to steer clear from humans since many of my kind were hunted down by them to use as slaves and servants under their command. But I had never hated them. Why hate all when it's only a select few that give them a bad name? I hope. I sighed as I sat along the bank of the spirit pond.

A place for the spirits to come and mingle every fee hours of the day. We spirits drink the water, swim around in it, and heal our wounds from the previous days or hours. My attention was on the rippling water until my attention wondered to Aye-Aye stopping a human from going into the oasis. I got up from my spot. I may not have a particular fondness for humans, but they should still be treated with respect and fairness.

"Aye-Aye," I walked over to the lemur, "just let him in. I'll take responsibility of him."

"[Y/N], you'll take responsibility for this ugly, destructive, and disrespectful of nature human?" Aye-Aye asked me. "A human who probably burnt down the trees you've been growing and restoring?" I sent the lemur a glare.

"Who you calling ugly?" the human boy asked him.

He was kinda right. In that he wasn't hideous to look at, but he also wasn't stare for hours worthy either. He was in that sweetspot where you can stare for a short while, but it'll be a reasonable length kind of stare and won't be dubbed a creep for doing so.

"You know if you can't go back to your city, then you should go live on another one." I told him.

"What? There are other lion turtles?' asked the human.

"'There are other lion turtles?'" Aye-Aye mocked. "Of course there are!" he spread his arms to make his point. "Dozens of them! Boy, you humans are stupid, too."

"Real funny. You know what? I don't need your help. I'll find it myself." the human said before walking away.

"Good luck!" I waved at him as he left. I never even got his name. I turned to the lemur. "Couldn't you have been a little bit nicer on him?"

"What do you expect? Him and his kind have direspected us, they've disrespected nature for years. Maybe if we direspect them, then maybe they'll understand how we feel." Aye-Aye explained.

Empathy? Although he had a way to get them to understand how we feel, to the humans we had powers. We could possess them and control certain elements and do unimaginable destruction. While they couldn't do anything. They direspected us because yes, they were all jerks, but because they fear us. You cannot subconsciously decide to disrespect someone if you do not have some fear for them.

Or at the very least be intimidated by them.

"Your logic is flawed, Aye-Aye. I'm going to go and go after him." I told the spirit.

Aye-Aye sighed. "Your heart is too good for your own good, [Y/N]."

"I know." I told him and began to walk through the forest.

And then, I saw fire. Or rather the light which emits from it. And I ran towards it to see the man and three hunteresque humans duking it out with one another. It seemed that they two groups (three hunters verses the man) were fighting over the cat deer. The hunters kept trying to get close while the man punched fire at them to get them away. I couldn't help but watch. The man took a hornets nest and tossed them at one of the hunters.

The nest broke and the hornets swarmed the hunter before splitting up into two groups and swarming. And then, I felt footsteps come from behind me and I turned abrutly, half-expecting there to be another human. But no. I was met with Aye-Aye who put a finger to his lips. Keep quiet. I nodded and watched him run and jump to possess a human.

"I. Really. Hate. Humans!" the Aye-Aye possessed hunter screamed and attack one of the other hunters.

And with a flick of my wrist, the earth below my feet rumbled and the trees became more like vines before wrapping themselves around the hunters and tossing them away. I looked over for Aye-Aye to see him out of the human (which now was running away and looked like Aye-Aye (a fortunately unfortunate side effect of possession)), and then my eyes wondered over to the human.

He was on the ground with some cuts and bruises on him, and I walked over to him. And helped him up. The human pointed a weak finger over towards the cat deer in the net. I looked over at Aye-Aye and with a unspoken request, he nodded and went to go free the poor creature. I dragged the human towards the oasis and put him and myself in the water.

"I... I feel... great. What's in this water?" the man asked, his eyes on me.

"It has special healing properties. You're going to be okay now." I told him.

I used my fingers to extend the branch of one of the trees. While it was extending, an apple was forming on the branch. I took it off and the branch went back to its place and I handed the apple to the man.

"Thanks. So what did you and your friend do to those hunters?" his eyes darted over towards Aye-Aye.

"Oh, spirits are able to take over a human body for a short time. I have control over everything in this spirit wilds since I'm a wildling." I told him.

"Thank you. For saving my neck. But why'd you do it?" he asked.

"Because you were trying to save the cat deer from the hunters. It showed me that you could be trusted. Unlike the rest of your species." I explained. "Are you off to find the other lion turtle cities?"

"I was. But I think I've had enough of humans for a while. I've decided to stay here and learn the ways of the spirits." he told me.

"I would be glad to help you acclimate to our way of life." I told him. "I'm-."

"Oh, now, now, hold on. A human living with spirits? It's never been done!" Aye-Aye cut me off to which I sent a glare at him.

"Aye-Aye!" I snapped towards him.

He sweatdropped at my snap before sighing. "I guess we can try it. I've never had a human as a pet before. I think I'll call you 'Stinky'." I sent a glare at him.

"The name is Wan." the man said as he sat up from the pool.

"Stinky is more accurate." Aye-Aye commented.

"I'm [Y/N], Wan." I told him.

The human, Wan, turned towards me. "Thank you, [Y/N]. It's nice to me."
