Violet's POV

I leaned against the cooled bricks that looked over the gazebo. I took a puff of smoke and blew it out into the spring air. I haven't spoken to my parents in quite a while, or anyone other than Beau. I felt alone, but I was glad to be.

"I love you, Violet"

I winced at the sound of those words. My thoughts are becoming more real, as if I'm not the one to think of them. I take another puff of smoke. A surge of anxiety rushed through my dead body. Something was wrong. I smash my cig on the wall and headed for the attic. Churning feelings in my stomach began just like the ones when Tate showed me my corpse. I raced faster, passing Chad and my mother in the kitchen.

"Violet?" my mother spoke. I ignored her and climbed the stairs. The ladder to the attic was open, someone was up there. He was sitting on my bed looking at the few pictures I had.

" Tate? ... What are you doing here?"

Tate's POV

Violet never really left the attic, and I never left the basement. I had to do it. She needed to know that I am sorry. I need her to talk to me. Just hearing her voice will fill my cravings for her. I crept out of the basement and towards the stairs. I couldn't see any of the others, I guess they didn't want me to see them.
Violet wasn't in the attic.
Her bed sat slanted in a corner covered in blankets and pillows, she had a book of birds splayed on the floor along with a few music CDs. A framed picture of her in a scary Halloween costume was placed on a small shelf with the jar of baby doll parts.
I held the picture in my hand,
She was so beautiful.
" I love you Violet." I whispered to myself. Memories flooded back to me,
like the day when we found Patrick's gay porn, and when I asked her to commit suicide with me, even though I knew we were already dead.

" Tate?"

Violet was standing there. Her hair was parted perfectly and it flowed down to her shoulders. Her slender figure stood only feet away from me. There was nothing I wanted more than to hold her in my arms, so she wouldn't be alone.
"... What are you doing here?" She asked in her sweet voice, these were the first words she had spoken to me in years. The first words since she said goodbye.

" I.. I wanted to see you," I started. " I missed you."
She walked over to me and took the picture out of my hands, she carefully placed it back on the shelf.
" I missed you too..." She said.
She was so close to me, I just wanted to hold her and never let her go.

" I think you should go Tate..."
Those words startled me.
I was so confused, why did she want me to lea-
"But can you sleep up here with me tonight?" She blurted out before I could say anything.
I smiled for the first time in a while. I hesitantly placed a kiss on her nose, hoping she wouldn't reject me.
She look up at me and smirked a little, then I faded into the air.
