3rd Person POV
Shoto opened his eyes and cleared his throat after swallowing. He had drunk yet another vial of 'blood', something he had to do daily.
"You know there are other options," Fuyumi paused, "Like animal blood."
Shoto had thought he was alone, so he had quickly turned his body away from the desk he was standing at and looked behind him to find that it was his sister. "You startled me, don't you normally knock?" he asked, not meaning to sound rude.
"I did knock," she paused again, placing a pile of folded clothes on Shoto's bed and opening a drawer to place them in. "You looked like you were dissociating again, which is another reason I suggested you try animal blood."
Shoto turned back to his desk and moved a few things to find his journal. When he finally found and opened it, he flipped through the pages. The first few pages were about human blood, and it's different types, then there were a couple of pages about blood supplements. "Considering they have the same types of blood as humans, I think I would react the same way to them," he explained.
Fuyumi then closed the drawer and picked up the two capes that she had brought with the clean clothes and hung them in the closet. "You won't know until you try it," she added and quietly left.
Shoto's POV
I thought for a moment and decided to sit down at my desk, the wooden chair squeaking. 'I might as well..' I thought. I grabbed a feather pen and dipped it in ink, writing the words: 'Animal Blood' on a new page and in my best handwriting. As I drank blood from different animals, I would add categories with the animal's blood type; an example would be a fox with B type blood.
"SHOTO!" yelled Enji down the hallway.
I looked straight up and sighed. I wasn't going to answer my father or pay attention to him. I was going to ignore him until he either came into my room or left me alone, though he chose the former.
My door flung open, and Enji stood in the doorway. "Shoto!" he repeated, quieter this time but still yelling.
I had moved my journal to the side and grabbed a book I brought from our library. This one was about the different blood supplements you could make with witchcraft. With that mind, I had tried three different kinds; two of them Uraraka had made, but I only had a recipe for one, and I couldn't see her anymore. My father had forbidden it.
Enji huffed and walked up just behind my chair to look over my shoulder. "Shoto, you need to train tonight; stop playing with witchcraft," he demanded.
"It's for my blood supplements, you know, to keep me alive and strong," I remarked. "You sometimes forget I don't have it so easy."My father knew exactly what I meant, and I suppose he had nothing to say about it. He had only taken a few steps back and was most likely thinking of what to do. Though within that amount of time, I had already summarized why my life was like this. I was the youngest son of my father, a vampire, and my mother, a human. Now not only did the quirks half, but so did the species. That meant my left side was my vampire side, and my right side was my human side. Though I luckily grew fangs on both sides, which would be helpful if I could drink from humans. Taking a look in my journal, in the 'Human Blood' section, you would read that I've had adverse reactions to every type.
O} Doesn't affect me too severely, but it doesn't give me any energy.
A} Makes me dizzy and gives me less than an average amount of energy.
B} Gives me headaches and stomachaches with an average amount of energy.
AB} Makes me pass out, seeming to give me twice the amount of energy as average, but I cannot wake up until it's out of my system.
This is why I have to take blood supplements even if they give me negative effects as well. Taking a look at those pages, you would see the reactions I have to them too.
Uraraka's Supplement 1} Randomly makes me dizzy, usually right after drinking, and gives me a sore throat. It also gives me less than the average amount of energy.
Uraraka's Supplement 2} Slight dizziness, but other than that, it's okay and gives me an average amount of energy.
Supplement 31} Periodically makes me dissociate, mostly at the time of drinking, and gives me some body aches. It also gives me less than the average amount of energy.
The supplement I had been drinking was Supplement 31. However, I would be drinking Uraraka's second supplement if she had given me the recipe or if I could still see her.
"Then just be sure you're out training by 2," stated Enji. He had backed up to the door and left, leaving the door open.
I sighed and closed my journal, putting it in the drawer of my desk before standing again. I had then pushed the chair away and gotten a few supplies from an old wooden chest. Twenty minutes or so later, I had failed to create the supplement, as it was a completely different color than how the book described it. "Hm.. maybe I'll try animal blood sooner than I planned," I muttered to myself. And at that, the clock struck 2.
