Okay so uhm- I don't generally write fanfics, but I'm honestly happy that you guys picked to read this one. Tell me what you guys think about it, and I'd appreciate a little vote here and there if you can. Anyways! Let's get into the storyline, I hope you enjoy!

* * *

You knew what you were doing.

Or well, sorta.

The hunter exam was gonna be a breeze, or so you hoped. Of course the nervous butterflies still flirted around your stomach, but you could hold them in. For now at least, and well, as long as your brother didn't recognize you, which was a pretty hefty wish.

He has no way of recognizing me-

In a way, you had a point, there was no way he would recognize you, not with the ridiculous attire you were wearing. A big black cloak with a hood that covered your face, a recyclable face mask that you found in the store, and a pair of sunglasses.

Ah well, overtop of your normal attire.

It was weird, and as you descended the elevator, you realized that it wasn't how ridiculous it seemed that bothered you. No, it was how hot it was inside. Like jeez- by the time you finished the exam, you should be able to tolerate all amounts of heat.

Interrupting you out of your thoughts, the doors to the elevator began to open, revealing the swarms of people in the sewer like area. Or so it seemed to you. You stepped out, your steps making no noise as you looked around. Various of them had come in groups, and in a way, you felt lonely when coming to the realization that you'd probably be doing the whole exam by yourself. Not even a friend to talk to-

I can make friends!

But then at one point in the exam, you'd probably have to fight them, and you hated the thought of that. Maybe being alone would be okay, just for this. And well, as long as your brother didn't recognize you, cause that would mess everything up.

Let's just say... you and your brother don't get along well always.

But again, it'd be impossible for him to recognize you. Not only because of your disguise, but because of your voice. Yes, you owned a voice changer, the little device stuck to your ear, leading to your mouth slightly. And yes, you adjusted it to sound like a boys voice.

Acting like a boy couldn't be that hard... right?

But that's besides the point, because with your h/c hair tied up into a bun, covered by the hood, he had nothing to identify you by.

And your eyes were covered by the sunglasses so-

Okay... so maybe I went a bit overboard, but better safe than sorry.

"Hey!"

A man approached you, offering you a grand smile as he waved. He seemed to have good motives, his steps casual and relaxed, although you got a bad feeling from him already.

"My name is Tonpa," he began. "This must be your first time, I haven't seen you here yet!"

Hasn't seen you here yet? Is this his second time trying the exam?

Attempting to play nice, you nodded, glancing up to him. "Ah, yes," you started, pausing at the difference in your voice- it sounded so weird being deeper. "If this isn't your first time, got any tips?"

Surprised at your question, he thought about it, shrugging. "Not much I can tell you, the exam always changes every year. Maybe just try to avoid some of the participants here this year..." he pointed towards a guy who had needles poking out of every part of his body. Ouch-
