Warning: There is gore in this story, and contains references to the Danganronpa games. However, these are my original characters. This story is also based off the Danganronpa games. I will be updating and adding onto the story frequently. Without further adieu, let's get started.
Prologue: Hope's Peak, Dreams, Hope, False
I felt minuscule compared to the building towering over me. It was insane really. I had worked so hard yet so little to get into Hope's Peak Academy, a school where only the best of the best at what they do can attend. My name is Kinoshita Masa, the Ultimate Analyst. No matter the analysis, whether it be analyzing a crowd, an equation, or any other situation, I'm the best of the best. What this school, Hope's Peak, looks for is people like me. I took my first step towards the school and my heart raced. I pushed open the doors to the school, and saw what seemed like endless corridors. No one could be seen, so I walked with caution, analyzing my every step more than usual.
"Hello?"
My voice echoed off the walls, like no particle of dust or form of life had ever been here. I held down my slight worry and picked up the pace. There didn't seem to be any classrooms or offices anywhere. Hallway after hallway, floor tile after floor tile, there was no one. No classrooms, no people, nothing. I finally looped my way back around to the entrance, out of breath from running with no destination.
There was a single podium in the middle of the entryway. I approached it, keeping my calm. It looked sturdy enough and had only one piece of paper on it, and a single black ballpoint pen. I looked down at the paper, which looked like a check-in sheet. It only had one name on it, and a place next to it for a signature.
"Why does this only have my name on it?"
My name was the only thing on the paper.
Name: Signature:
Kinoshita Masa x______________
I picked up the pen next to the paper and hovered it over the signature space provided. Why am I the only one here, not only on this paper but what seems like this school? Why do I have to sign this?
"I guess I should, in case it's important for school registration."
I swiftly signed the paper...
... and in the blink of an eye, cold metal swung against my head, sending aching pain across every inch of my body. My head throbbed, and my knees gave out. Everything went black, and my ears felt like they were being unplugged from the world around me. What hit me? How? I checked everywhere, there was nothing that could've hit me, especially with that level of force. I wanted to scream. I wanted to scream so loud that someone would hear me and run to me. But there was no one to scream to, and I couldn't muster the strength to let out a single sound. Everything went black, and just like that, I signed my life away and entered the game that will cost me my life.
