My stomach turns as Jack pulls in the driveway of my old house. It gives me the shivers. He opens my door, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go in.

"Babe, come on, I won't let anything bad happen," he reassures me. I flash a fake smile and walk out to the door. I don't knock, and as I enter, Jared is standing by me.

He embraces me in an annoying hug. I pull away, "where's mother and dad?" I ask refusing to call her mom. He smiles, "in the kitchen," he says and leads me to them.

They both hug me and we all sit at the table, including Jack.

"I'm disappointed in your behavior towards your brother a few weeks ago," my mom starts off. I laugh, "of course you are," I say hotly.

"You need to get away from Los Angeles and all those... boys," she says. "Excuse me? I brought her all the way here, for you! And I'm one of those boys," Jack snaps.

My mother slaps her hand on the table, "yes your a very rude one too," she says thinking she's smart.

"Mom!" I yell. She stops, "you need to come home darling! This boy is nothing but a bad influence," my dad says.

I feel like slapping him, "if anything he and LA are a good influence! Note I haven't been to any raves or gotten in trouble with the cops since I've been there?! Don't talk to me about good and bad influences... ever!" I say loudly.

Jack grabs my hand under the table. I look at my parents in disgust. My mother looks down, "fine. As of right now you no longer live at this house and you are not a member of this family in this household," he says.

My mouth drops and I choke back tears. I should be happy, but I'm not.

"That's bullshit! You can't do that to your own daughter!" Jack yells as I stand up and head to the door.

"Get out! Both of you!" My dad yells and we do. I run to the car and Jack trails behind me. I hug my knees and let the tears fall. Jack starts the car and pulls away. He kisses my temple, "now I know where your coming from. I'm sorry," he says.

"I don't know why I'm upset, Jack. I shouldn't care at all, but I do," I say. My voice is shaky and I take in breaths.

"You should care, they are your own family." He says.

He pulls onto the interstate and I see that it's around 9pm when we leave Atlanta. He pulls out his phone, "I'm gonna see if we can stay with Aaron while his parents and sister are out of town," he says and places the phone I his ear.

For some reason this makes me almost... smile.
