The warm eyes smile at me

The color and comfort of delicious runny chocolate,

I'm melting under her gaze.

~A Haiku written by Kiro about MC

"Hey, where are you taking me?" I looked ahead at Kiro, who was running ahead of me whilst dragging me along by my hand. I squinted against the dazzling sunlight and shaded my eyes.

Unperturbed, Kiro continued to race across the grassy field. "Just a bit longer, Miss Chips!" he yelled out, his blond hair bouncing jovially. Golden rays scattered around his boyishly athletic figure. He glanced back at me, his merry teal eyes shining. "This is going to be great for your show," he declared with a self-satisfied smile that I likened with that of a proud toddler producing his newest masterpiece.

"The one about beautiful sights to see in Loveland?" I asked dubiously. I had casually mentioned it yesterday over the phone. What I hadn't expected was that Kiro the superstar would appear on my doorstep the very next day after wrapping his performance to show me 'someplace awesome'.

"Yeah!" he said, turning back. "This place isn't well known, but it's been one of my hideouts for a while now and I wanted to show you. Can you hear that?"

A soft gushing noise greeted my ears. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia, although I couldn't make out what the cause of the sound was. "What is it?"

"You'll see," Kiro said with an air of mystery. "Close your eyes for now. You need to have the full experience!" I did as he suggested, the sound playing in my ears like a sweet melody. The comforting sound grew gradually louder as we neared its source, until finally, Kiro stopped. The sound was extremely loud, so much so that Kiro had to shout to be heard. "What do you think?"

My breath caught in my throat as I opened my eyes to a awe-striking scene. A single ribbon of silver water streaked down a large cliff that towered above us, casting it's blinding light into our eyes before crashing onto the ground and flowing down the river. Forgotten memories bubbled into the surface of my mind. Memories of caressing froth at the feet of a huge wall of water, my father holding onto me as I slipped my leg into the embrace of the cool, refreshing water. Those care-free days long forgotten had finally caught up to me at that moment as I stood mesmerized before the waterfall.

"It's... beautiful," I managed to say, struggling to take in the stunning sight. It was like a place straight out of a fairy-tale.

"Right? I knew you'd like it!" Kiro declared. "This place is perfect for getting your creative juices flowing and to pen down a masterpiece for your show."

I walked closer to the waterfall, letting it spray me lightly. I had never felt so young, so free, so alive as I was then, listening to the soulful melody of the fierce water. "Thank... thank you Kiro," I said quietly.

"Huh?" he said innocently, cupping his ears. "Can't hear you."

"It's absolutely lovely Kiro," I said loudly. Kiro grinned at me and gave me a thumbs up.

"Hey, what is this?" Kiro had crept over to the river and was peering over its edge. I made my way over to him, bending over to have a look.

Suddenly, something splashed on my face, freezing cold. "Hey-" I wiped the water off my face. Kiro grinned mischievously as he prepared to splash more water on my face. I covered my face quickly and attacked him with a cupful of water of my own. In a few moments, both of us were engaged in a fierce battle, laughing and giggling as we soaked each other with the cool water, not having a care in the world as the sun beamed upon us.
